The Avengers? In PF? WHAAAAT????

So with the new Brawler spoil today I noticed something... THE AVENGERS CAN NOW BE MADE IN FULL... Mostly.

The Hulk- Master Chymist/Alchemist (Dr. Banner is a nerdy guy who turns into a hulking monstrosity, i.e. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde i.e. Master Chymst)

Hawkeye- F 1/ W1/ EK 5/ AA X. Kind of weird but this would allow you to do the whole "Arrow for any occasion" thing Hawkeye does by reflavoring putting spells on arrows as "Changing the arrow"

Captain America- Brawler with the Shield dude archetype... pretty much given

Black Widow- Slayer

Thor- Bloodrager (air) for thunder powers.

Iron Man- 3PP class Machinesmith... I know its cheating but pretty much the closest fit. Uses teh Alchemist skeleton but tweaked. Can get a "suit of Armor" that they tweak with magic and can get an attatchment to give flight. Put a few wands of magic missles and you have phasers!

BAM!!! Avengers!

Scarab Sages

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Iron Man is a synthesist summoner. The Power Armor is the eidolon.

BAM!!!

Granted Machinesmith works a bit better flavor wise (Int based and the contractions are literally machines) but meh, close enougH!!!

Oh for those who are confused as to the brawler

Manliness in a Class

I thought that Iron Man would be a Magus.

Iron man is def a syth summoner in PF only stuff.
Outside of that I'd vote for the aegis/blade psionic combo pack.
Can change for all occasions. change looks for it, etc. Though instead of normal blade use the throwing version, replicates repulsor beams pretty well.

Iron Man would be a magus with focus on magic item creation and a golem armor (medium adamantine or mithral golem that is an inteligent item - Jarvis).
He would be:
Intelligence based caster with several force spells, flight, some divination spells (sensors), invisibility(stealth armor), Could have various golem armors enchanted to give whatever bonus fits for any occasion, since money is not a problem.

There is currently a PFS group like that in my local area.

I don't remember what they did for ironman since the sythesist isn't allowed in PFS. Maybe an EK or magus with folding plate and still spell.

All this talk wouldn't be complete without a setting, would it?

Here you go.

Bana is a reclusive Mage that harbors the Hulk (use stats for Tarrasque) inside of him.

I did a full series for the team right here. It's only up till the end of the month, but I'll be finding new homes for them.

Everyone says Iron Man is a synthesist, but I disagree. Mechanically it works just fine, but thematically his armor is still armor and not a part of some greater, living being from another plane. Construct Armor, particularly that made from a golem, is something I personally feel fits closer with the theme of the comic.

As always though, it's just a game and we can all play how we want. Was just throwing in my two cents.

Silver Crusade

I haven't checked the Bloodrager, but he never seems to really rage and lose control of himself. I'ld make him a cleric, with the Air domain to throw some lightning. Maybe War as well, or Strength. As it stands, he channels the divine energy in himself, so no need to choose a god for him to worship, he gets the warhammer as the deity's favored weapon, and there we go. Maybe warpriest, but as I said, I haven't looked at them much.

Every Avenger is an Alchemist.

Hulk - Vivsectionist Ragechemist
Hawkeye - Grenadier with a bow
Iron Man - Heavily armored Grenadier with all the discoveries that can turn the bomb into cones and lines and stuff.
Cap - All his powers are from drugs and he has Throw Anything

Desidero: You left out the Widow.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32

Black Widow is a gunslinger. Black Panther is a ninja.

Thor is either a Warpriest of himself, or a fighter with an AWESOME magic weapon.

Liberty's Edge

My list:

Black Widow is a Gunslinger/Slayer. Probably with a level or three of Monk or Brawler thrown in (she's really good at hand-to-hand, actually). N.

Hawkeye is a Fighter (Archer)/Ranger. NG.

Captain America is (as of the Brawler archetype announcement) a Brawler (Shield Champion)/Paladin. LG.

Thor is a an Asgardian (probably a CR 6 or so Outsider race) Barbarian (or, perhaps more likely, a Bloodrager as suggested) with a very nice magic item. CG.

Iron Man is probably a Gunslinger/Wizard/Eldritch Knight in Construct Armor. CG.

The Hulk is (as mentioned) an Alchemist/Master Chymist with a couple of levels of Barbarian for additional might and anger. NG/CN.

Nick Fury is, much like Black Widow, a Gunslinger/Slayer (probably a tad bit more focused on Gunslinger, and with no Brawler). LN.

Dark Archive

My PFS Hulk clone is an abyssal bloodrager.

Wouldn't Thor be a bladebound magus? Although I doubt that he really has the INT. Also, Hulk is probably a Mutagenic Mauler/Expert.

How come no one ever suggests cavalier for Cap? With the battle herald prestige class?

Speaking of prestige classes, shame on all of you for not suggesting master spy for Black Widow. I mean, come on....
;)

Definitely not. Mjolnir doesn't talk, not even to Thor.

Because he lacks a mount, and it's generally less appropriate than the other options mentioned.

Okay, that one's a definite possibility.

You're absolutely right. Now I want to suggest somehow getting the hammer as a bonded object, but the bard archetype that does that is not really appropriate.

Much as Mjolnir is awesome...it doesn't change. Like at all. I think that makes it an Artifact or very expensive item he possesses rather than a class feature.

Scarab Sages

I think I'd make Thor's class a thundercaller Bard personally. He is very inspiring, and thundercaller covers the Thunder & Lightning.

This isn't counting his race or Artifact hammer.
