I am planning an Escalation Alpha Party for Friday the 18th of July at 10:00 pm pacific time!
We need as many alphas as possible to attend! If you plan on attending please let me know with your character name so I can get the parties organized. Everyone should plan on logging in 10 to 15 minutes early and meeting in Sotterhill by the Auction House. We will be rolling out at 10:00 pm to murder and pillage an entire escalation!
I'll be a bit grogy for work the next day, but I will be there!

Sorry, but I need to cancel! Wife is starting into preterm labor, and we are flying out to Phoenix immediately. Even if child doesn't come, we will likely be down there for a while.

Just got clearance from bonny Bonny to invite everyone to join The Seventh Veil's TeamSpeak for voice chat for this event.
Server = atl01.mainvoice.net:7183
Everyone involved should at least download TeamSpeak and join, even if you don't have a microphone. Being able to hear other talk is a major communications upgrade from text chat, especially on the tactical scale. If you aren't familiar with TeamSpeak, you should try to get on the server a little bit earlier to allow time to resolve tech issues.

So I probably won't be making it Friday. Wife had an emergency c-section today. Everything ok so far but don't think I will have much PC time :P
Amigad, babies everywhere!! Aren't you the same guy I spoke to on TS that was due around the same time as our little kit? I get people confused sometimes. Nonetheless, super-congrats!
Thank you all for the kind words! Baby hasn't come yet (technically a good thing at 33wks), but everyone's prepared for Mrs. Fox to be taken off the magnesium tomorrow - meaning baby is likely to come "soon" after.
And we won't be naming her "kit" - sorry guys. It's an awesome idea, and I might start using the term anyway in context of these forums. ;)

Congrats (or soon to be congrats) to Kitsune and Dak!
I'd love to be able to attend this, but we will be ending a campaign night just as this starts. May be able to duck in afterward to watch but would miss the start time to join in (or rather for Huran to join in since he's the one with the Alpha).

Can people actually connect? When I try to login it just sits there for a bit and then complain it was unable to connect to the server.
From the email I received for this week's Alpha testing:
The server will go live at 3pm (Pacific) Thursday the 17th and be on-line until 6am (Pacific) Saturday the 19th.
If the server is unavailable right now, I'd guess they decided they needed to take it down for some fix. Unfortunately, I can't test trying to connect right now.

Ah damn. Some time-conversion site fooled me into thinking the event was now - when it is in fact in 12 hours. So I figured I'd ask if I was the only one with a problem.

No, I think it should be live right now from my readings. I know I was able to log in before work this morning. My character had some 11,000 xp clocked in. It spent awfully fast even though the town he is in hasn't a cathedral.

I'll assume that meant taking down the firewall rather than the server.
I actually hadn't expected to get into the alpha this weekend until we heard of the event. I thought the schedule would have let us into a new build next weekend.
By the way when I did check in this a.m. it looked like there were new feats to train at the dreadnaught trainer. I don't know if this was because I had more xp or if new feats have been added.

Your assumption is the correct one. We have taken the firewall down and you should be able to log in to the server.
Wow. Epic ninja. My consolation prize for food poisoning making me see my breakfast again.

Im shooting for a few hours. Not sure how long its going to take us to clear out an entire escalation.
We may not be able to clear out an entire escalation in just a few hours, but we should be able to knock it down significantly.
