At this point, other of my fellow residents would probably say something like Tex-Mex also being one of the great things. At least normal residents. Not those sad, pathetic little refuges from certain other (more poorly run and less free) states.
I, however, do not agree about Tex-Mex, if only because my stomach would probably emerge from my body to strangle me.

At the campout this past weekend, I was telling one of the other dads (a fellow engineer) about some of the projects we recently bid on. Specifically, I was telling him about the Space X job down near Brownsville. We didn't get it, but it would have been cool. The company wants to run a new gas pipeline to its facility. Said pipeline would aid in expanding the business and the facility (which is planned to at least triple in size).
I love being in a state with such a bright future in one of the big emerging industries - the commercial space industry. Of course, we already had a leg up over most of the other, lesser states. Since we already had a great history with the national space program.

Damn! That episode of It: Welcome to Derry was brutal last night. I was really hoping the denizens of the Black Spot would at least take a few of the hateful, SOBs with them. And I was bummed to see that one kid buy it. Still, he went out like a boss - sacrificing himself to the woman he loved.
I've known guys like that. Not around here, of course.

I can see where they're going with this, though. The little crazy girl who has the ancient shard will offer that thing up as a replacement for the pillar that was destroyed. Yet someone will have to lure IT back into the cage, so they can slam the door shut behind. I wonder who that'll be? Wouldn't mind seeing James Remar's character redeem himself by doing it.

I did bring in some of my old study books for the PE Exam. The kid they hired not too long ago is planning to take the test. So I told her I'd bring in these books with sample questions, and she can use them to study.
If nothing else, I try to be a kind soul. Maybe a wee bit on the sarcastic and irreverent side, but I think that's just the Gen X in me. And occasionally a bit pessimistic, but in that case it's just experience shining through. Overall, though, I try to be nice(ish). There are far too many people filled with hate, bitterness, hypocrisy, and spite.
