It has become abundantly clear to me that the fab yard does not really care about my client's project.
In other news, I see many people are criticizing the Academy Awards for adding that new "Popular Movie" category. I think the hullaballoo is interesting because (a) it seems there are still people not part of the Hollywood machine who actually care about awards shows, and (b) these same people seem to think the Academy decision makers actually give a flying f%#+ about what they think.
When it comes to movies, I only truly care about one thing - Did it entertain me? After that, I care if it was successful enough to open the way for a sequel. After that, I care if it's true to any source material.
So far, here at the fab yard, the 3rd party I&E installers have made more progress on my punch list than the actual fab yard has made in the last three weeks.
Imagine what could have been accomplished if the fab yard actually devoted a few people to working on the skid.
Happy Friday?!? We shall see.
Got a call from my boss yesterday. He asked for the contact information for our client, because the initial funding had run out and he needed to see about getting more.
I was really hoping the client would decide not to continue this arrangement, and I'd get to go back to the office and do something not useless. No such luck.
Now I'm here until at least the end of August.
Which will be oh so much fun, once school starts up again on the 20th. That's when traffic will get waaaaaayyyy worse.
I may have to cut my work hours back to 7 a day, just so my home schedule isn't affected too badly.
This morning, as I was driving the kids to daycare, the boy said "Daddy, there's something on your antenna." I look over, and there was a big ass preying mantis clinging desperately to my antenna. The wind from the car moving was in the process of dislodging him, which it did a few seconds later.
I hope it's ok.
The wife and I saw Equalizer 2 on Friday night. Good movie. Antoine Fuqua & Denzel Washington delivered again.
Finally got to see Avengers: Infinity War last night. Awesome movie.
So, you're a comic book guy, what's up with the end?
Gamora and Spider-Man are my kid's two favorite superheroes, should they be worried for their fate.
Tried to make it as unspoilered as I could.
Captain,
I'M a comic book guy! Why don't you ask me?!!
No worries on Spider-man. He'll definitely be back, since they already have his next movie (with Tom Holland) scheduled (and maybe even filming, I think). And I think Marvel has him contracted for at least a 5-6 picture deal.
Gamora should be back. I believe she was still set to be in the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. After that, it might be more up in the air, since her contract could be running out, and the actress might be hesitant to make a new one.

Probably because I'm more lovable.

Sure. Thats it.
Zombies are always more lovable. ;P
It's the eternal smile,... as they reach for your "BRAAAAAIIIIIINSSSSS"
EDIT-
Fortunately, we need fear no actual zombiepocalypse.
As everyone knows, Zombies eat brains.
And as Aberzombie's posts have proven, time and time again,...
Most of the people that we have to deal with are, truly, brainless.
;P
But.....but....I really am lovable!
I tell people a lot - I'm an a$&&$%+, but the lovable kind.
...At least my dog loves me... even if he's annoying jerk.

You know, my wife says that all the time, but we don't have a dog.....
Short work day today. My boy's school is having Meet the Teacher from 2:30 to 4:30. So, not only will we be going there to find out who his teacher is, but we're also going to help run the Cub Scout Pack table.
So....this new dude started hanging out in this third-party office I've been calling "home" since mid-June. This dude, turns out, loves to talk. It was getting kind of annoying, so I had to show him what "loves to talk" is really like.
This morning, when we stepped out the house, both my kids saw the full moon and started going off about werewolves. I'm not sure if I should be proud or terrified.
The boy and I beat Diablo III on his PS4 yesterday. He was pleased as punch. We'll have to wait until next weekend to take the characters into Adventure Mode, however. The wife and I won't let him play during the week while school is in session.

Now that we're getting closer to cooler temperatures, I'm planning to go buy myself a bicycle. Then the boy and I can go for rides around the neighborhood.
Looks like we're gonna get some rain today. Thank the gods.
Either tonight or tomorrow, I have to attend a parent meeting at the church. This is an informational meeting for all the parent's whose kids will be in Faith Formation this year. The boy is enrolled, and should make his First Communion sometime next Spring.
I'm not a big fan of these meetings, however, as the old lady who runs them seems to think she's a priest, often giving a 10-15 minute homily at the beginning.
Then on Thursday of this week, the boy and I are going to help at the Cub Scout recruitment table at his school's open house. At some point, we'll also go see his teachers.
We put my baby girl into a dance class. They teach it once a week at her daycare. My wife's thinking if she likes this class, we may enroll her in the same school as her cousins.
Thank all the powers of darkness and light this week is coming to an end. Also, thank them for the extra day off this weekend.
The other night, I caught Gladiator on TV. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Connie Nielson has aged much in the last 18 years.
This weekend might have been a bit more enjoyable if I weren't afflicted by a mild stomach bug. Not enough to make it miserable, just enough to make it un-fun.
My kids finished up their 12 week swimming course. We could have enrolled them in the fall semester, however, I decided I had a few higher priorities for that $500+.
And, of course, there is rain. In a way, that's a good thing. It's helping bring a bit cooler temps.
Ho hum! La de da. F&%& this place and everyone involved in this project. They all suck balls.
Today, I told someone something they did not know.
Soon...Iron Fist, Season 2!
I also must not forget the boy has a birthday party to attend. It's for one of the other kids in the cub scout troop. He's a year older than Charlie, but they've had numerous chances to hang out, and seem to get along well together. The other boy's dad and grandmother are both leaders in the pack, and I work with the dad on organizing Pinewood Derby.
Ye gods, I hate coming to this fab yard. Thankfully, the end is potentially in sight. I'm funded to be here through next Friday. The Hopefully, the client company will not request I continue on the project.
The first unit I've been overseeing is close to being finished. The second unit...well, they've at least set the two skids next to each other...but that's about it.
Of course, neither the fabricators or client give two craps about how these delays are screwing me over.
Normally, when working somewhere other than the office, we are compensated for the difference in mileage to that of our normal commute. However, the client and my company each asked if I would be willing to eat that cost myself, since the duration of the project was supposed to be short, only 6-8 weeks.
Now, here we are on week 12-1/2.
And, lest we forget, there's also the longer commute (and more of my time wasted getting to and from this shit hole).
What the f%!~ kind of appliance repair shop doesn't work on one of the major appliance brands? That's just f&!%ing weird.
Watch your f@&% language before you f**$ing upset someone. Do you f#%#ing understand? F@%*!
j/k!
Shit! F@%&! Goddamnit all to f**+ing hell! Motherf~$*er! Sonofab+!&@!
The other night, I caught on The 13th Warrior, with Antonio Banderas. Such a great f$~@ing movie. The book was better.
It seems Momma Nature is more than ready to make up for our lack of rain over the summer.....
