I cannot disagree with your thoughts. Perhaps there may be hope for some future continuation - if the fans clamor enough for it.
Ugh I dont believe the showrunner for a second when he says he intended for 3 seasons. The last few episodes felt like a wrap up for a typical season. Sad because the show has plenty of places to go.
