Alpha Testers: GobboCast Needs YOU

Pathfinder Online

Greetings Golarion!

GobboCast is doing its best to provide the Pathfinder Online Community with the latest and greatest from all aspects of the CrowdForge Experience!

We've got Land Rush Interviews (Check!), We've got Developer Interviews (Double Check!), We've got Alpha Tester Reviews (Uhh...),

*Tiny Coffee Golem runs up, whispers something in Gobbo's ear*

Check that, we NEED Alpha Tester Reviews!

If you have played in the Pathfinder Online Alpha, and plan on playing up until Early Enrollment, we need your help!

GobboCast would like a chance to provide your opinions, your experiences and your screenshots/videos to the greater Pathfinder Online Community! We need all sorts; those who don't mind conducting a PodCast Interview, those who would rather provide a Blog for addition to Gobbocast Website, or just the pleasure of hosting your pictures and videos!

It's easy to join the GobboCast Team; simply email us at Gobbocast @ gmail.com, reply to this thread, or send a message to Harad or Krow.

Well hullo there. Morbis would be happy to help. I'm just heading out the door this second, but I'll see about emailing/speaking to one of you tonight.

If I may, I would recommend another "Community Round Table" discussion among a select group of Alpha testers. That was fun and interesting the first time around. I would be glad to participate, depending on the timing.

Goblin Squad Member

Morbis, consider your happy/stabby time on my list of interviews; I appreciate it greatly.

Nihimon, I think that is an excellent idea. The last Community Round Table went splendidly (if I do say so myself!), and I think a select table of Alpha testers offering their unique perspectives in a chat setting would lend itself perfectly to this environment.

The Team has discussed conducting the interview (or in this case a Community Round Table) after this next round of Alpha; as I understand it, the server will be open all 4th of July weekend, and having some sort of get together within the days following (while it's still fresh in your minds) may be the best time.

We are certainly open to suggestions about timing, but does anyone see any issue with the week following (7 - 11 July)?

Well, I know Paizo Con is this weekend, and a number of alphas are going to be at that instead of testing. (I won't, because Seattle is way too far.)

Goblin Squad Member

We could also think about the week after, 14 - 18 July if that week causes too much trouble!

I would like to get an 'Initial Thoughts' Round Table done, and then, in a few weeks as we have the end of the Land Rush, a repeat of that Round Table, to see where the game is headed and how you all think the game is progressing.

I'd be open to this sort of thing as well.

Goblin Squad Member

Thank you Kitsune! Of the two date ranges named above (7-11 and 14-18 July), which works best for you?

Goblin Squad Member

I won't be in this weekend's Alpha because I'll be at PaizoCon. However, I'm sure there are a number of other folks in the Alpha who could provide their feedback.

Would it make sense to do a "First Impressions" Round Table with the folks who've been in the first two weeks of Alpha, and a follow-up Round Table after a couple more weeks of Alpha? Those in the second Round Table would have quite a bit more experience by then, as well as having time to absorb what was discussed in the first Round Table so as not to go over the same ground again.

[Edit] Heh, reading the rest of the thread, I see you've already answered that question :)

Goblin Squad Member

We're on the same page! I would rather prefer to do this sometime next week; I fear if we wait too long, that 'first impressions' will be lost as you fine alphalites (alphanians? alphers?) dig deeper into the game, and as GoblinWorks responds with new updates and improvements to Pathfinder Online.

Alphibians?

Suggest a simple 'alpha' for the singular. Or 'alpha tester'.

Shouldn't 'Alphas' suffice for plural?

Goblin Squad Member

Alphas would be far too efficient

Goblin Squad Member

Indeed! Being, you always were able to crash my eccentric party with your highly efficient discussions, weren't you? ;)

I think either would work for me. It might be a better idea to have it sooner rather than later, for the reasons of "freshness" mentioned above. I already have some opinions formulated, but most of them were muddled with frustration for AMD's recent processor descriptions.

Friday the 11th might be tabletop night, so I'm not 100% sure on availability that night, but I'm 100% confident my adventure-mates would approve of the delay of game, if any.

I'm usually available in the evenings after 5-or-so MST (GMT -7, no DST).

"Alphas" sound fine, but might make us sound a bit egotistical. ;)

Goblin Squad Member

So you concur with the accuracy, I take it. Oh!

wait... What?

I would be more than happy to help out here.

Goblin Squad Member

Did someone mention the Tiny Coffee Golem?

I'm in Alpha, not sure what I could help Gobbocast with though.

Goblin Squad Member

Thank you Dakcenturi!

Alexander, I would be honored if you would join our team of 'Alphas' and conduct a Roundtable discussion about your impressions with the game so far. We are looking at possibly next week, the 7-11th of July to conduct this Roundtable!

Goblin Squad Member

I don't mind helping as well.

I'll be back home after PaizoCon on the 9th, and will happily participate in any of the discussions. I'm a fan of Gobbocast :)

Outstanding Cheatle and Nihimon!

So let's say we shoot for the Thursday - Sunday of that week; 10 - 13 July. What dates DON'T work for the above parties who wish to participate?

Uhm... unless you want me distracted from playing Alpha, you might want to shoot for a night the Alpha server's not open. If Wednesday works, that might be best. They also might not leave the server up all weekend, so Sunday would probably be good too.

Truth be told, though, I can likely work around any schedule you need.

Goblin Squad Member

Agreed, if Alpha is open that Thursday-Sunday, I would rather do things Wednesday. :)

Oh, I was indeed hoping for a little later when the servers were offline; I dare not interrupt Alpha!

So the 9th, or the 13th; does anyone else hold issue with these days?

Goblinworks Executive Founder

If you want a video interview and can resolve the issues with Twitch latency, that could happen during Alpha.

I would need to get that info by Tuesday after Paizocon to resolve tech issues in time.

Goblin Squad Member

Morbis can do whatever, whenever. Morbis has very little going on at the moment (Driving test on Thursday, and then nothing scheduled until October, basically).

Goblin Squad Member

Morbis bin hangin owt wif Guurzak too much!

Goblin Squad Member

Anytime is fine with me.
