What nicknames do you use?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

It has been a while since I have started a thread like this, so I thought I might try it again. I am betting that it is not just my group that uses nicknames for certain cards or powers on characters. Here are a few examples...

Masterwork Tools = Mastertwerk Tools. Run into a barrier that you can't beat? That's fine, just twerk it.

Ring of Protection = Bonk Ring. Taking some damage? Nope, bonk.

Lini using her discard power to get a d10 dexterity = Cat form.
Lini using her discard power to get a d10 strength = Bear form.

Lem using his power to add a d4+X = Guitar Solo!

There are others, but I would like to hear more from the community. So, what are your nicknames?

Jakardos Sovark (or whatever it really is) = "Jake the Aardvark"

Pathfinder ACG Designer

2 people marked this as a favorite.

The dev team has a lot of these, as you might expect. My personal favorite is Norgorber, aka "Ermahgerd! Nergerber!"

Ranzak is sometimes known by his more formal name, Ranzak, Destroyer of Worlds. Or sometimes I Am Become Ranzak.

Blessing of No Boogers for my group.

For us, we just got "Norgerberger(gergergerger).

Our Jakardos Sovorak is Jarkos Savarkos. Vale Temros escapes this fate and is just "Other Giant Guy."

Most notably for us, Blessing of Saranwrap...

The drag queen Wanda Shield and her cousins, Wanda Force Missile, Wanda Scorching Ray, Wanda Enfeeblement, and Wanda Treasure Finding

Also, we know all of the Slings as half-bras because Amiri the Barbarian; beware the Acid Half-Bra +3

Finally, when Seoni uses her inherent fire spell, we sing "This [Insert Card Name] is on fire (fire)"

In the base set we soon ran into the damned, elusive Sh-a-dow (you probably have to be a Brit to get this reference).

AP1 brought us the Goblin going Commando.

Now some of my solo teams have finished AP4, I have defeated Murray and am proudly wielding Murray's Club.

Oh, and around here Merisiel goes by "Mel" for short.

"Merry" appears to the be the popular diminutive around these boards, but that might be because it's canonical? I don't know if it is or not.

Re: Seoni's power, we always just say "I blow up my [Sage, Ring of Protection, Blizzard, Crossbow, Dog, Force Sling +3]"

(the last one made Lem cry)

Scarab Sages

Scarlet Pimpernel?

We've taken to calling Drunken Master Sajan just "the Drunk" and my Kyra is always teasing Ezren for being an atheist.

Harsk refers to Lini and Lem as "the kids." Although he also seems to be developing a sweet spot for Lini, so he doesn't say it when she's at the same location as him.

Scarlet Pimpernel?

Indirectly yes, but filtered through this episode of the nation's favourite sitcom. I couldn't find a clip of the actual sh-a-dow line though.

Also, I forgot to include the nickname of the most annoying barrier, the F***ing *ell.

Not strictly a nickname, but we do feel like the art work from Shopkeeper's daughter (and probably the wisdom check) should appear on the card "Large Chest"

The Bell... oh lord the Bell. I swear it's been following us...

My wife hates the Bell as well, but I think that her Seoni is having a lot more trouble with collapsing all of the ceilings in the entire adventure path...

Couple nicknames we remembered:

1. Heal Stick - Staff of Minor Healing
2. Hey Guys (I'm here, too) - Aldern Foxglove (He had a habit of showing up in every scenario, so after a while, we'd just say this in a funny accent whenever he showed up)
3. Kitty - Sabre Tooth Tiger
4. Fwip - When someone used Harsk's power or a bow/crossbow's second ability

We have several:

Blessing of Akbar (It's a trap!) is our favorite
