Shaman--I'm pretty excited to level up my shaman Aitheria to 4 and get wandering spirit. Wandering spirit seems like it's going to give her a huge number of possibilities in flexibility, and there's definitely one or two wandering hexes that are just phenomenal.
Does Wandering Spirit of Lore still give the Shaman potential access to the entire Wizard spell list?

Well, it did in the playtest, though the multiple attribute dependency was fierce if you wanted to do it well. Did it make it to the final version? You'll have to wait for at least the shaman blog! (and probably longer--I have no idea what will be revealed in that blog). I will say that Aitheria was definitely looking forward to that back in the playtest.

I've made teleport travel plans to move across Golarion faster than the sun can set, and I've got my contingency set to death ward just in case!

What kind of action is it to reload a +1 Endless Ammunition heavy crossbow, assuming the user does not have Rapid Reload?

While I might just be confused, the text seems to imply both that it's not an action ("the weapon's wielder never needs to load the weapon with ammunition") and that it does not change the action ("This ability does not reduce the amount of time needed to reload the weapon") required.

Paizocon was great. I got to meet a bunch of awesome Paizo fans, say hi to all the Boston PFSers in attendance, and even play a game or two! My highlight was when Linda's team won the trivia contest and then Linda gave her gift certificate to the kid at the other table who had gotten 8 of the 25 questions (since honestly with me around, she doesn't really need a $75 gift certificate that much).

It creates a new projectile "each time an endless ammunition weapon is nocked", so it still takes the same time to nock or wind or load up the thing; it just magically produces the ammunition itself for you.

I played video games much more a few system generations back, but eventually the mainstream consoles lost me with what I considered at the time to be too much focus on graphics over innovative gameplay and story. However, I am quite excited by some of the innovations I am seeing in portable consoles and occasionally free online games.

Over the years, I've been a big fan of video game RPGs, though I've certainly loved games of many different genres. Consolewise, Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger are old favorites, Final Fantasy Tactics was so fun to play that it started its own subgenre (which is always something I admire in game design), SMT:Persona games have interesting character depth and inspired the modded relationship system I use in my Jade Regent game, and I'm playing Bravely Default nowadays. On the computer, I'm still a big fan of Planescape: Torment (I kickstarted Numenera: Torment too!) and Baldur's Gate 2. Gosh, there's so many more games I'm thinking of, but I'll just leave it at those for now. Not to say all the titles I listed above are the best of the best, just the ones that came to mind quickly.

Yes, I also love Fire Emblem. Just didn't come to mind immediately, though it was in my head after I had already decided to cut off my post, along with many other games. I am one of the roughly 99.99% of Fire Emblem players who always restart the whole battle if even a single character dies. Woo completionism!

These sorts of uses seemed like the clear top uses of the spell to me from the time I read it. However, I certainly do think that the spell warrants another look when we have the time. That's not to say anything between the lines more than what I directly said though--which is that I personally think we should give it a closer look when we have the time to do that. Until then, for your home game, you could make your own alterations, or do what I do in my home games and just ban the spell.

Aaaaaaaaand apparently "until then" is not going to be that long. FAQ yeah!

Does a character who's a member of a particular organization NEED to have levels in the Prestige Class associated with it, or can they get away with it through roleplay, like, say, a cleric of Iomedae who wants to be a Knight of Ozem but doesn't take levels in the actual Knight of Ozem prestige class because they don't want to lose spellcasting progression, or a Pathfinder that doesn't take levels in the Pathfinder Chronicler, Delver, Field Agent or Savant prestige classes because they're interested in a different prestige class like Arcane Archer or something?

It just feels to me like the minute an organization gets an official Prestige Class for it, you can't be a REAL member of that organization in-game without taking levels in it, that without the Prestige Class to PROVE you're in the organization, all you have is your say-so, and that negates the idea that it takes effort to join these organizations.

Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The First World (self explanatory)
Pathfinder RPG: Plots and Intrigue (with ideas for things like social conflicts and complex webs of schemes)
Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Fey Unleashed (like the other unleashed, but with fey being the ones who are unleashed this time)
Pathfinder RPG: Grimoire of Magic (full of alternate casting systems)
Pathfinder RPG: Pathfinder Unchained (this is a real book!)

Looks like you have your own ask thread now. :)

1. What can you tell us about the Brimstone Den that you didn’t have the space to in Wayfinder 11?

2. Do you plan on developing it, or Senara, further?

3. How would you feel about fans developing it further?

4. What are your thoughts on Arshea and Lymnieris?

3. How would you feel about fans developing it further?

4. What are your thoughts on Arshea and Lymnieris?

1. Shockingly, I actually managed to get out a complete thought in that section of the gazetteer, so I didn't cut much for space. I can tell you, however, that there is at least one hermaphrodite rakshasa-spawn tiefling (not an unusual combination) who works at the Brimstone Den and is part of a small mystery cult with Ilara and a few others. I have some vague ideas of a few other staff and clients, perhaps for later.

2. It's in Wayfinder (so quite unofficial), and I'm part of the rules team working on different lines, so it seems like it would be a pure fluke of the schedule if I actually got a chance to write about it.

3. Sure! I picked Senara because I thought everyone and their quiver of throwing gnomes would write about Kintargo or Brastlewark, but as it turns out, there's a really cool Senara article freelancer Robert Brookes wrote in between when I turned over for Wayfinder and the publication here with a totally different take. I'm happy to see anybody else's take on Senara, whether it's based on my version or any other!

4. You mean the way they interact together or just each in general? If the former, Chronicle of the Righteous says they visit each other, which makes sense to me. If the latter (and a bit of the former), I wound up designing a backup character for Council of Thieves who would have been a perfect worshiper of Lymnieris in many regards, though she was a paladin of Shelyn, since this Lymnieris info wasn't out yet. My favorite Arshea/Lymnieris thing I've done has been a complicated Mystery Cult of them based in Magnimar that I designed as part of the backstory of one of the new NPCs I added to Jade Regent. The cult is centered around a "Knight and Lady" motif and the NPC hadn't gotten far enough along in it to learn the names Arshea or Lymnieris, but the weird thing to wrap one's head around is that neither Arshea nor Lymnieris is either "The Knight" or "The Lady" but in fact both of them are both at the same time.

Also Bonus Extra: The Brimstone Den in glorious color!!!

I've heard they are good, but I don't actually own any console from that generation.

If you like tactics games at all, the Ogre Tactics is the best mix of team building and near impossible difficulty. Seems like Atlus may be broke by now, any chance Paizo would pick up a small franchise like that and perhaps make a tabletop/minis game or even a expansion into Pathfinder out of it? The classes were always an interesting mix to me.

If you liked Baldur's Gate, I recommend Divinity: Original Sin. It feels so very much like a spiritual cousin to the game.

I am pleased this has been changed but was curious why it was labelled as a FAQ when it is clearly an erratta. Also the wording is a little ambiguous. When it refers to locking you into the choice is it talking about the initial feat selection and any subsidiary choices or just the subsidiary choices. So can I cast it once and take Spell Focus and later on get Expanded Arcana (Overland Flight) being locked into Overland Flight for the rest of the day or when I pick Spell Focus is that the only feat I can gain for the rest of the day?

@Anaphora--it says "that choice" rather than "those choices", so the anaphora has to resolve to the entire selection starting from "you must select a feat".

By my strictest reading of the druid oaths, there's nothing stopping a druid from wearing a set of clothing and gear made entirely of metal (down to her undies) as long as it doesn't include armor or a shield. However, I don't think it's outside the boundaries of table variation to extrapolate to an obviously armorlike piece of equipment like the jingasa.

We have our own method of asking James anything that usually involves office e-mails. However, in this case it seemed an amusing way to answer.

I thought we had always been at war with Eurasia, but the I still have difficulty in thinking in newspeak. Which is double plus ungood.

On a very slightly more serious note, on the question of Paragon Surge, after a quick reading I am guessing that the Shifter's Headband will not work to grab another feat since it specifies selecting another form, and you are still simply taking the form of a more awesome Half-Elf.

However there is the feat Emergency Attunement in the Pathfinder Society Primer. I do not have the precise wording, but it lets you select a new choice avaible from a polymorph spell while under the effect of a spell, by halving the spells duration. Though it is only available at level seven as it needs a spellcraft of at least seven to qualify.

He copy-pasted it from JJ's thread.

I guess the new FAQs also deals with people using a Headband of Intelligence with Linguistics as a bonus skill so they can't just take the headband off and keep learning new languages.

Inter-company consistency. You asked a question with, essentially, a yes/no answer, not for an opinion.

In fact, asking multiple people the same question like that is exactly the kind of thing that lead to the blow up in the past with the 'Paizo get your house in order' thread. Multiple different Paizo employees were giving multiple different answers.

So, instead, you get one answer from all three sources so this stuff doesn't answer.

If, instead, you had received three different answers, then, inevitably, someone would have brought up, "Well so and so said this, so which is correct?" Maybe not on your issue, but someone else would have done the same thing and the tit-for-tat would have started.

It's one of the reasons why James Jacobs doesn't like to answer rules questions any more. Too many people tried to use his posts to 'win' arguments or prove the Designers like Jason, Stephen, Sean or Mark wrong.

If you wanted an opinion, you should have phrased your question to say that, instead, you asked a question that could easily be answer by a yes/no response.

I wouldn't recommend using that feat with paragon surge, since the built-in limit for paragon surge would mean that you have to choose the same exact decision the second time too, which would be a waste of your time.
