Stacking Sneak Dice

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

There are a number of classes and Prestige Classes that give 1d6 of sneak damage at first level and they state the damage stacks.

Here's my question, if you dip them, do you get the 1d6 at each first level, or so you need to sum the levels to determine stacking?

Concrete example, Rogue and Inner Sea Pirate both give 1d6 sneak attack damage at first level. Will a Ranger-7/Rogue-1/ISP-1 have 2d6 sneak attack damage?

As long as the class ability says that the dice stack, and doesn't say, "...the levels from the classes that grant sneak attack stack to determine the effective rogue level...". I know at least one class does say that.

In the case of the Inner Sea Pirate, it straight up stacks.

Yes the things that say "+1d6 Sneak Attack" should stack.

The things that talk about levels stack for levels, not SA dice.

This has not been a problem (Rogue, Vivicentionist) until they made Slayer which has a different level progression. So with a Vivicentionist/Slayer, which progression do I take? The viv one or the slayer one? No idea in the rules. Pick one. ;-(

Well, in the case of the viv/slayer, it might work like how it says for the gun tank's armor training ability which states,'This ability stacks with the fighter class ability of the name. If the guntank has both class features, she takes the most advantageous benefit.'

What about ninja and rogue.

Can you take a level of ninja and a level of rogue?

Yes you can be a rogue/ninja. The level progression for a rogue/ninja is the same as pure rogue or ninja.

Oh So if I took a level of rogue and a level of ninja I wouldnt have 2d6 sneak attack, but 1d6?

ninja is an alternate rogue class. The rules for alternate base classes specifically state that you can never take a level of the base class or vice versa. So if you take a level of ninja you can never take a level of rogue and vice versa.

I dont know if you can do that since Ninja is a "Alternative" to rogue, but if you do it this way:

Rogue + Master Spy + Assassin you can get quite a few extra die only by dipping into those classes, so unless otherwise specified by the class all sneak attack die stack with eachother ( so a 1d6 from Assassin will stack with the 4d6 from the rogue and and then another 1d6 from the master spy make a nice 6d6 total )

I'm pretty sure TheBulletKnight was trying to be facetious. As Tpark said, Ninja is an alternate class of Rogue so you cannot take levels in both Ninja & Rogue, just as you cannot take levels in both Samurai & Cavalier.

Are there any ways to just speed up sneak attack progression faster then 1 every odd level without multiclassing?

Sap Adept and Sap Master Feats. They are situational, but awesome.

No, same class rules block it.

Even if you could be a Ninja 1/Rogue 1, you wouldn't have +2d6 SA.
