Where'd my GM stars go?

I have to say that if I could replay everything I have ever GMed for, I would be happy to take credit for them again. :) I am just happy that I just hit my second star.

Dang, I lost a bunch of tables too. I thought Pathfinder got rid of EXP penalties, didn't it?

Everyone please understand that your session credit will be restored, eventually. In the big picture at Paizo, this bug is not a high priority. They have product release schedules, turnover deadlines, PaizoCon, PFS Season 6, GenCon, etc. A lot of irons in the fire right now. Mike & John have no control over website bugs. Feel free to make jokes and share your mock dismay. Just be patient and realize that it may not be fixed today or even this week.

True, but I'm one module (which I'm currently running) from three stars!

It'll be like taking a -1 on shirt rerolls!

I could DIE!

... well, I'll just tread carefully for the next little while...

I am very close as well... I assume that if you were concerned, you could print out your GM session list, and prove you've earned the stars. Assuming it just doesn't keep showing them.

As long as they can verify that yes, I HAVE met the requirements for 5 stars, I'm cool with it.

Just because you don't have to clear negative levels before leaving the table doesn't mean you shouldn't.

Well at least I'm not alone. I thought maybe reporting Origins broke the system.

I was born in Connecticut.

Oh, wait, that's not what you meant by reporting origins.

Never mind.

Sovereign Court

I heard that it's the compromise for everyone who has been arguing for more re-playability of scenarios. By wiping out everyone's table credit, now everything can be played again.

Disclaimer: I totally just made that up, but someone is going to take it and run with it anyway because it's the intarwebs.

4/5

I got knocked from 90+ to 6 tables in one fell swoop. I even reported a module and Im still at 6 tables. I Was all excited I was finally closing down on my 4th star and now this happens!! I think I may be retiring now before i loose the rest of my tables.

Sovereign Court 2/5

It'll be fine, they've likely been backing up that data so this should be solvable once the web team gets the time to fix it.

There's a thread on the website feedback forum about this issue, you might want to read about it.

5/5

Hmmm... quite strange. I'm down to 6 (from 120ish). Can't find a pattern - I've run 5 modules/APs and 2 specials... I guess I've run 6 modules/specials, that could be it. But I'm quite sure Doug has run more than 2 of those. I've run at more than 6 events.

Time based? Recent would drop Doug a lot - I've run 6 since March 23rd. Anyone else match on that?

I'm guessing it has something to do with Thornkeep games run...

But I have been wrong before...

So if we're losing our GM stars, does that mean we now have GM white dwarfs? Or GM neutron stars? 'cause that would be awesome.

Shadow Lodge 4/5 Venture-Captain, California—San Francisco Bay Area South & West

It looks as though both Thornkeep and Rise of the Runelords still count.

Dark Archive 1/5

It's probably an easy one to fix, if someone digs in.

The fact that people are seeing varying amounts is a clue. Could be an unexpected null throwing an exception, and the null hits different users in different points of the tallying - thus the different count totals.

Or, someone tripped over a cord.

Well, down to zero tables and zero stars. It is so weird to not see stars by my name now, hahaha. And now to wait. Ah well. Not doing anything PFS again till the weekend.

Looks like still no stars for us:( My name looks sad without any stars next to it. I was so close to my 4th and now I can't even earn one since even when I report a new game I stay at 6 tables.

The Exchange 4/5 Owner - D20 Hobbies

I've got 6 table credit! Woot.

More than most people in this thread, I must run a lot ;-)

I am worried about running a couple events this weekend. I bet when they get reported my stars will be wiped out.

Personally, I donated all but four of my table credits to the needy.

They'll never get my stars though! Muahahahaha!

Doubtful; considering that the fifth star has requirements beyond table count, it's probably something that the system doesn't actually use table count to determine, but rather is a manual "flag" they have to hit you with. Since you've already been beaten by the flagpole, you're safe.

I reported 3 new tables yesterday and retained my stars. I think that SCPRedMage is correct.

Considering the source, I'm sure Mr. Baird was mocking those who are concerned about their stars.

Pathfinder Society Stars and Table Credits: Where everything's made up and the points don't matter. Because, seriously, they're just a vanity.

If you're that concerned about your table credits, you already know how many you have without having to sign into Paizo.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Pathfinder Adventure, Rulebook Subscriber

Actually, I don't, thanks to running a number of tables for no credit, so I don't have chronicles to count. :)

TOZ, I highly doubt you're one of the people fretting over table counts.

I probably didn't sufficiently communicate "Those who are concerned about losing all their table credit when reporting an event during this Paizo website 'crisis' probably already know their numbers." Those who treat the problem as "Business as usual; Paizo will fix" are not subject to the comment.

I can see it affecting a small number of people for rerolls as they cannot print their new stars card. For online play it is worse as you cannot point to your avatar's stars.

Hmm, what's the chances that someone fails a critical roll because they cannot prove their stars for a reroll?

Or of course you give everyone the benefit of the doubt that they have 5 stars ;-)

Liberty's Edge 5/5

Starfinder Superscriber

Well, something changed. The other day it said I had 0 tables of credit. Today it said I had 26. I just reported a session, it says 27 tables. But, I should have 32 tables, and the 32 (well, 31, but one is a module) are listed under GM sessions.

So, there's still some bug in the system, even if things are different from before.

(Hopefully I'll get that 2nd star back at some point....)

RainyDayNinja: did you change your avatar just for that post? It fits so well....

Sovereign Court

Bye Bye stars they were fun while they lasted :)

Sovereign Court 4/5

Righty, at least you still have one!

The Exchange 5/5

ok, I was 80 games credit.... then zero... now back to 65.

But I don't feel any different.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Whatevs. Went from 12 to 50 but still only 1 star shows. Eh. Still doesnt look like modules are correctly reporting as 2 credits. Baby steps.

Sovereign Court 4/5

Just checked and my tables are back up to 81 (still 4 short, which would account for the two modules I've run), but no stars. Ah well. Maybe they'll come back after I run this weekend.

Grand Lodge 5/5

I have an open event and I just hit report and then deleted the session and my stars showed up again (well most of them).

I think the 16 tables I'm missing are from 8 modules that I have run that are not showing up as GM+2 (they are apparently not counting at all).

Sovereign Court 4/5

So they vanished after a report was made, it would make sense if they came back after a report was made. Thanks, Cire, for the... well, report!

Off topic, Cire, do you you pronounce you name as "sire" as well?

4/5

At 64 tables but still no stars!

Man, people actually ask to see ID cards for those rerolls? I don't doubt you, but it's not something I've ever even encountered. Expect table variation, or something, I guess.

If someone really wants to lie to me, they'll probably going to get away with it. I've never asked to see someone's ID card. In fact, I usually have to remind people that they have a star bonus they weren't including.
