Geo-Political Feature: The Chaotic Triangle

This is a concept in the making, and something that may be interesting to develop by others as well. I can imagine the possibility of the community of PFO to create our own Gazetteer or geographical index of terms and features.

Presently, and hopefully it becomes realized in-game, The Chaotic Triangle consists of the three settlements of Thornkeep (NPC -CN) + Aragon (PC CN) + Freevale (PC CN). These three settlements obviously forming a triangle located in the Central - Eastern portion of the Early Enrollment map.

Most likely, contrary to popular belief, this region is not intended to become an area where safe travel is not possible. It may be a chaotic hive of villainy, debauchery and larceny, but those virtues are typically not practiced where we sleep.

In Aragon for instance, the UNC will not conduct SADs (unless slaves are suspected cargo) or ambush (unless feud or war targets) any merchant caravans or travelers in general. Note: Any further discussion on this specific UNC related topic can be discussed in our UNC policy thread

What would you, the community, like out of Freevale as the northern most point in The Chaotic Triangle? We are working on setting up a Troupe of Bards!. Perhaps you are looking to obtain escorts for your caravans or goods? I know Barbarian skill training will be provided once it is available. Is there any particular good or service we can provide that will make The Chaotic Triangle a destination rather than detour?

Welcome to The Chaotic Triangle or as I like to refer to it: "The Party Zone".

I have an image of wagons full of gamblers waiting for the announcement... "We have now entered The Chaotic Triangle, you may begin placing your bets!"

Aye, the bards do tell of the Chaotic Triangle. A place of great mystery where wine, ale, and spirits of all kinds are wont to disappear! Never to be seen again!

Well I saw them in the early morning, but yellow...

The Chaothic Triangle will be our Bermuda Triangle generic?

FNORDS aside...

This may not be the case of OURs Triangle, that will count with REAL disappearances! :D

The Sentinels of The Echo Wood is going to make it one of it's primary focuses to protect those residing in and traveling through the regions under Aragon's control, particularly closer to Thornkeep.

We would be very willing to work together with Freevale to ensure the entire chaotic triangle sees more random parties and less random slaughter if that's a goal they would like to pursue with us.

Blunt Logic is most certainly interested in keeping trade clear in our area and promoting a meaningful PvP environment. I suspect a number of Freevale citizens would help as well. We can't fix every problem but we can do our part to make it safer than not to adventure near our home.

Excellent. I look forward to working alongside you come EE. The Sentinels are ever friends to Freevale and it's residents.

Lion Council are the ones that are interested in safer roads then are being told in the forum....

In the end, meaningless PvP will be probitive for long term players. We still need to deal with meaningful PvP, but we can handle that...

Hmmm... If you guys keep acting rationally like this, you might have trade and visitors.

I am glad there is a strong CG element to The Triangle. :)

It will be ironic if the safest places from being robbed are in the settlements built and run by bandits, assassins, barbarians and thieves,

Here in Brazil we have a old song: "Ladrão que entra na casa de pobre só leva susto." Which poorly translate means: "Thief who enters the house of the poor only takes fright."

I believe another one which might apply is don't crap where you sleep. Our CN and CE elements will not wish to discourage commerce and prosperity in their homelands. And where better for the CG elements to protect people than our home?

I believe the Chaotic Triangle will be a rowdy but fairly safe place.

Would this triangle be a unofficial thing or would their be an alliance between the member settlements to ensure the status quo in the territory?

The two PC settlements in The Chaotic Triangle, Aragon and Freevale, are part of The Northern Coalition NAP.

Currently the settlements of Aragon and Freevale have a non aggression pact, through the Northern Coalition pact. Once in-game, I can see that this relationship will include trade agreements and other social - economic ties. A full alliance is also something that could be considered at a later date.

I think it will boil down to who wins the 'Most Epic Beard' competition.

Goblin Squad Member

Good Stuff. I still have a fair bit of catching up to go regarding the political and strategic situation of things before EE starts.

Scarab Sages

Beard? Someone say beard?

Goblin Squad Member

"Triangle" sounds too orderly to me. Plus it may be too academic for me and my illiterate barbarian companions. Can we call it "The Chaotic Blob-With-Some-Pointy-Bits-On-It" instead please?

Scarab Sages

Barbarian probably call that: "All-Mine-There-To-There"

IT'S A TRAP! :D
