The Crowdforged Settlement

Canis Castrum’s mission is to encourage players to actively participate in Pathfinder Online’s crowdforging process by forming a direct democracy where every settlement member will have an equal voice in government. From our remote, defensible location in Hex R, we will preserve our political and alignment-based neutrality, allowing us to support a diverse population with different interests and play-styles. Our belief is that a settlement is the sum of its parts; each part should have an interest in the whole.

We welcome characters regardless of race, class, or alignment. Canis Castrum leadership will take a grass roots approach toward helping every member fulfill their goals in Pathfinder Online to the best of their ability. Hex R’s ample forests and croplands mean we will be able build the infrastructure needed to help every member adventure, battle, and craft. Whether you’re a good elven ranger or an evil cultist, there is always a place for you in our settlement.

Political neutrality means every member will have a meaningful impact on the game. We hold no major player affiliations. Membership will have the opportunity to review and vote on our player agreements.

Welcome to the mad house! It will be interesting if people can make direct democracies work. My personal politics makes me hopeful that the tools that modern inter-connectivity brings will make if feasible, though my experience has run counter to that.

@Morbis, Direct democracy is one of the possible settlement types Ryan lists in the Settlement governance thread. I hope that includes push to email notifications for members of all settlements regardless of government. Maybe sometime in the future, either GW or the players will develop a mobile app to allow folks to vote when they aren't in-game. You could run an entire settlement over dinner!

As I understand it, TN is not a valid Player Nation alignment, because a Nation is a combination of multiple Settlements. It is a valid Player Settlement alignment. We'll probably known more when the Alignment mechanics are implemented.

Alignment Change: In order to optimize our settlement for trade and crafting, Canis Castrum is now a Lawful Neutral settlement. We are recruiting LN, LE, LG, and TN Free Agents, Merchants/Crafters, and Adventuring Companies (PvE).
