I think this would fit the original definition of guild better than the settlement-sponsor companies do.

These types of groups are definitely likely to offer the kinds of loose affiliation or groups of friends that many are used to. While primary is meant to advance their career.

Depending on how my characters go (and what other companies I am obligated to join) I may join. I'm certainly thinking that with 3 companies each on at least 2 characters I should be able to join, but we'll see.

The Lion Council is a chartered company out of Aragon. They are kind of "Jacks of all Trades". They are the only merchants that are safe from UNC predation, other than the other Northern Coalition members.

Yebng is also a citizen of Aragon, and will likewise be protected by and from UNC banditry.

It was not intended to be a recruit charter (it has no link to Join). But a transparent and complete form of introduce ourselves, with all the pertinente informations needed.

Actually in the first moment, by my quick (poorly) reads, seems look like an place to centralize all the market companies. After a better read and alrady posted, clearly my confusion but I see no harm was done IMHO.

Gotcha, a simple "I want to join" will suffice. This is not so much a place for others to advertise themselves, as a place for others to join if they are interested. It is specifically a company that can be joined in addition to whatever other company one might belong to.

Are you, or others in your company, interested in joining Mercantile to have access to the network being established?

I meant "guild" in the actual, historical sense, though they may also fit in the 'gsme buddies' sense.

If set up as a third company, it won't collect influence and would therefore find the 50-member soft cap on influence-earning to be irrelevant. At that point, it's a loose communication network, possibly useful for coordinating 'wagon' trains. brokering deals before travel is undertaken, and warning of areas where trade routes may be interrupted. Of course, one would have to be circumspect about how openly plans are made or reports are trusted, because bandit groups will likely place moles.

I would regard this company more as a collection of contacts myself; as you say, the company chat would likely be watched carefully by bandit groups as well as enemies.

I would expect bandits to attempt to make use of it as well. Though, unless people act carelessly, I do not see this being an issue in and of itself.

Keovar is correct that the point of this is not influence gain, but rather networking and easy communication with the right people.
