Or...

This makes me sad, I miss Chris Farley, I got to meet him once in Iowa, right before he was getting really famous.

A quoteable person is one who can live on. An especially good thing if that life is laughter.

Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt, but I need some advice. I'm trying to prepare myself for EE, and figure I should watch some shows with similar themes to the current climate.

Sooo..."Game of Thrones", or "Days of Our Lives"?

To emphasis the point, We in the UNC and particularly the citizens of Aragon, had no designs on Forgeholm's caravans either. I was completely honest, you guys were not on our mind. You settlement has STONE!! No Star Metal... Just freak'n STONE!!

So I would not feel all alone...

I'm sad - did nobody notice Emerald Lodge finally passing Forgeholm?

Took us full 10 weeks - but Kabal passing both of us still prevents a top 10 (7) depending how you count.

Doubt we manage in time to get Dagedai now.

BREAKING NEWS

- Emerald Lodge, after a long campaign, has passed Forgeholm by two votes, to claim #8 in the Top 30. They can tie Dagedai Alliance with one more vote, but, since Dagedai has a pending un-approved vote, they'll need two to hold the tie and three to pass.

Finally back on track. A shame the land rush is over on Sunday. I'm now in Indianapolis for early warm-up for GenCon and this would have been an opportunity to strengthen the US PFS membership.

- Showing the value of a single vote, Terra Australis Incognito has moved from #23 to #20 in the Top 30, currently with 13 votes

In fact with 82 we now slip ahead of 7th Veil, but that has no real significance as 7th Veil are exempt from the landrush.

Don't worry the free kobolds are just homeless NPC ones we found wandering near Keepers pass.

The Exchange Goblin Squad Member

Is it the last week-end of the Land Rush ? and after, does the EE still begins in mid-september ?

Goblin Squad Member

Yes. The landrush closes tonight at midnight Pacific time.

We don't have an official date for EE yet, but Goblinworks has continued to maintain their "third quarter" target as a working goal. Late September is a good guess.

Goblin Squad Member

Hope's End is suffering from shrinkage currently. Perhaps a lot of emissaries are returning to their respective roosts for the final count.

Goblin Squad Member

- We're down to only four groups in the Top 40 with pending votes right now:
+ Golgotha (1 vote)
+ Blackwood Glade (1 vote)
+ The Guardians (1 vote)
+ Four Rivers Mercenary Corp (2 votes)
If you're in those groups, contact your leader, and remind him or her to give their approval(s)
- Kabal climbed three votes, to 63, overnight, solidifying their hold on #5
- Les Compagnons added one vote, bringing them to 22; it'll now take six votes to knock them out of #16

Goblin Squad Member

Darn I had a lot of ... Hope for them.

Well I'm heading out shortly to dinner and a movie with friends. Try not to burn the landrush down while I'm gone?

Goblin Squad Member

No promises.

Goblin Squad Member

I think that's asking too much for this group ;).

Goblin Squad Member

Still can't believe 30th place is held by only 7 people. I had visions of 2 or 3 times that many would be needed to hold a bottom position.

A viable mechanism for contacting microguilds and unaffiliated players might have made a difference in this matter.

Goblin Squad Member

We sent out a few people in a last ditch effort, we'll still be at 12 in the very least. I am surprised at the minimum to qualify, we originally closed down assuming it was going to be a lot higher.

I think ten times more exciting than the landrush will be the months afterwards, when the consolidation really kicks off. And just when the last couple of stragglers join up with the Deaders or whatever, we hit EE, and every day we're shuffling.

Goblin Squad Member

Look down to #40 as well. With all the consolidation that's occurred the last two weeks, five votes is all it takes to appear on the Leaderboard in these last hours.

No prizes that far down, of course, but name-recognition is worth something to some some groups.

The larger groups could in theory have taken two or three of the less popular locations if they had spread their votes.

Defending three settlements would have been another matter altogether.

Yeah, unless they all end up adjacent and can just defend the outer ring

Goblin Squad Member

True but we weren't interested in that. Wanted to give other folks a chance at a settlement.

I see Ozem's Vigil will outnumbered Callambea once they approve their latest members.

We have more votes that we can't use in this Land Rush because of Fidelis' votes being committed already to Callambea. ;)

But I'm kind of tired of the LR honestly and the numbers part of it. Because honestly who knows how many of the players will actually stick with the game month to month. This whole thing will be very fluid I think for a long time out. Which is actually really exciting to me. I'm excited to have this end and begin talking with our neighbors about working together to help craft a world. Really awesome stuff ahead.

Goblin Squad Member

Blackwood Glade has one more pending now.

Goblin Squad Member

Well, if you can't use those other votes, send them over to Kabal. We can put them to good use! :-)

Goblin Squad Member

Tavernhold has one more pending! :)

Goblin Squad Member

Ozem's Vigil has 2 pending.

Goblin Squad Member

- Kabal and Blackwood Glade each added one vote, both staying solidly in their positions #5 and #11
- Hope's End added two votes, and Canis Castrum lost one. Result, a three-way tie at 11 votes: vVv Gaming, Canis Castrum, and Hope's End, positions #23-#25
- Low on the Leaderboard, it requires *very* few votes to move things around: 11 votes +/- four covers positions 18-32
- 12 of the Top 32 groups, by adding only one vote, can move up the Leaderboard

Goblin Squad Member

- Aragon advanced one vote, to a round 60; they're comfortably at #6 in the Top 30

Goblin Squad Member

Latest count of un-approved votes:
- Golotha, 1
- Ozem's Vigil, 2
- Tavernhold, 1
- Hammerfall, 2
- The Guardians, 1
- Four Rivers Mercenary Corp, 2

Of these, only Hammerfall and Four Rivers will improve their positions by approving their pendings. Hammerfall will climb from #13 to #12, and Four Rivers will actually enter the Top 30 with this, their last chance, at #28.

You've just under four hours to go. Get in touch with your leaders and tell them to check in on your group accounts.

Goblin Squad Member

Virgil squared us away. :)

+1 for Tavernhold!

Goblin Squad Member

Hope's End is back to 12, it looks like that will be our final number for the Land Rush.

Good luck everyone. (Not that I feel like much is gonna change...but ya never know)

I have 5 or 6 votes to spend and am undecided as to where to spend them. They would need to be accepted once I vote. I assume the voting ends midnight on the pacific coast.

Lawful Neutral mercenary, contract work, bounty hunting, etc.

Suggestions?

Goblin Squad Member

Callambea and Kruez Bernstein are in it for the money with mercenary work, Contracts, and Bounty Hunting. You could find some friends there.

Kabal is a strange one that you may find interest within.

T7V covers pretty much every spectrum of gameplay.

Golgotha and Mystical Awakening (To be renamed later) are more militaristic groups where you may find a home if PvP is what you are after.

But honestly as a LN Mercenary you can fit in pretty much anywhere that takes in Lawful individuals.

Goblin Squad Member

Dagedai is LN, free city, they are catering specifically to Merc groups.

Ozems Vigil is always looking for muscle as well..

Forgeholm is lawful neutral.

Although they have a heavy dwarven contingent, I think they get along with anyone.

Ozem's Vigil (LG) might work.

We could talk about Tavernhold, but we are CG to the core so LN is a challenge.

That's true. Lawful Neutral fits well with LG and they are seeking strong PvP groups.

In any event, your world won't fall apart if you pick wrong. I'm sure any group will be happy to accept your team later, though you might not get quite as nice terms as far as representation if you join after tonight. On the other hand, If they're having trouble holding enough towers, you might just get better terms.

In fact, at least one team is offering cash. Not a lot of cash, but it's an incentive.

Thanks for all of your replies. I'm looking over each now.

If anyone has terms they'd like to offer feel free to PM me.

edit: Also, am I correct in assuming this ends at midnight Pacific Time?

Vogas wrote:

Good. I think I really made some important points for you to consider.

Goblin Squad Member

Yes. Midnight Pacific. But I'm not sure how many people will be hanging around that late to approve votes. (It will be 3:00am EDT)

Still, most people will be happy to have you, regardless of the landrush, though some will be more happy than others if it happens tonight.
