As some of you are aware (if you religiously follow the forums and have an eidetic memory) I've been keeping track of the land rush on a daily basis. With the first tallying around the corner, I thought the community might like to see where we all are, as a percentage of the whole.

Wszebor's pie chart for 5-30-2014

That should take you to the google+ post I have with the chart. You can click on the chart to bigify it. And apologies to all those who have a one person settlement... you're all getting scrunched together. Organize!

Nice work Wiz!

Goblin Squad Member

Awesome! Thank you. So now we know who ate all the pie.

Thats a big pie to eat for the UNC. Good they got such big mouths!

You'll get indigestion if you eat all that!

Goblin Squad Member

I love me some pie. That just looks fantastic! Yeah, this graph is certainly a nice incentive for those one-member companies to try to get a bigger piece of the pie....

Goblin Squad Member

It might be helpful if you could insert a separator on the 33rd entry, so that people can see where the cut off point for settlements would be. I counted it out, and I think it is the first yellow portion in the top left quadrant, if you are going clockwise.

Please keep in mind that while UNC is a large part of Aragon, not all of Aragon is UNC. We're happy to share our pie with like minded individuals, while also stealing everyone else's pie.

That wouldn't really work as my chart doesn't take into account tiebrakers. There are 4 settlements" Green Mountain Militia, Reading Between the Lines, Storm Wardens and The Bastard Sons of Daggermark" - each with 5 members that tie for the 31st through 35th spots.

Ok. so what I decided to do was block out those 4 settlements in black. anything clockwise of it (getting smaller) is out). Anything counterclockwise is in. Those 4 settlements have to fight it out in three-legged hot dog eating contests. The post is now updated.

And thanks Gol Morbis for the feedback. It definitely helps with future charts!

I don't know how good your skillz are or what you are using to do all of this. But instead of names, you can tie the guilds to their ID's and use that as a tie-breaker.

There's a lot of copying by hand - but I suppose that I could sort by two different fields.

Honestly, though this is just week 1. I think its more appropriate to just note the guilds that are tied for that last spot. Sort of like "the bubble". As we get closer I can do the cut more finely :)

Goblin Squad Member

It may be important, though. Whoever is top on Sunday will get the benefit of a stability point modifier. That could be the difference between being on the cusp, and pulling away from the crowd.

That depends on how those stability point things work, that is.

Ah yes, like a staircase going ever downward, it represents my descent into madness.

Goblin Squad Member

Well, we'll see. I'll certainly include it as time goes on. Right now those four know where they're at. And remember, there's also the expanded leader board which goes up to 40th place.

I think they know where they stand.

Goblin Squad Member

Yeah, fair enough. Handy chart though. I'm much better with visuals than just the numbers.

Goblin Squad Member

There's a publicly shared Googledoc spreadsheet here with the guild numbers and stats as they were an hour ago.

Anyone is free to add their contact info to it.

Thats pretty cool. l may have to borrow that at some point,

Very nice work

Cause they taste good with coffee. Then again, everything tastes good with coffee.

Chaos has a plethora of powerful and debilitating spells at his disposal. The most commonly used spells are Firaga, Thundaga, and Blizzaga, but these are his weakest spells. Chaos's stronger spells are Blaze, a strong Fire-elemental attack, Cyclone and Tsunami, both powerful non-elemental attacks, and Earthquake which attempts to inflict Instant Death. Rarely, Chaos will conjure Flare, his strongest spell. Chaos has Slowra, which can decrease the Hit rate of one character, Haste, which increases his Hit rate, and Curaja, which heals him fully

Hershey hearsay? HERESY!

I'm tempted to join T7V just for that comment. Is this a widely held conviction in your settlement, or is that a personal preference?

Where have you bean? The right words are so strong they can't get past the filters, so I won't sweeten it up for you, but T7V was built on the love of coffee and solving its delicious mysteries from the grounds up. But T7Vs second priority is to have a blend of people with different opinions and are always encouraged to espresso self.

That's an awful latte coffee references.

Caldeathe Baequiannia wrote:

More along the lines of a personal tolerance. I'm an extreme "morning person", and a running joke about me--seemingly independently "discovered" by friends, family, and colleagues over the decades--is that I'm so energetic no one can imagine me on caffeine.

Even a few sips of Coke can wire me to the wall, and I've never learned to enjoy even the smell of coffee, which my best friend (a serious coffee-guy) tells me is unique in his experience; he finds that even people who don't enjoy the taste like the aroma.

Ugh! I can't stand the stench of coffee in the morning. And it's only marginally less disgusting when I'm fully awake. I'm afraid you lost me.

Goblin Squad Member

The only time coffee is even reluctantly in my home is when I have company over for a long stay . At all other times this place is a tea and cocoa household. And chocolate. Chocolate is a must .

One of the things we have going for us in TSV are the beginnings of sub- communities. The geographic society (which created these graphs and is documenting the land rush) is one. l could see an anti coffee community starting up. Heck, I would even join such a group.

Goblin Squad Member

Hey, I was wondering when you were going to update this again?

A lot of people actually joined in the past 12 hours, so just wondering when, or what time schedule you will use to update.

Goblin Squad Member

I internally update my totals around noon EDT each day (schedule permitting, of course). That gets put on the google doc.

If there's massive changes then I update the graph for TSV. As this was the first time I submitted anything to the forum I didn't really have any idea for subsequent updates beyond "when I felt like it". lol. At best I figured I would update it a day or so before each round of land rush closes.

But if there's a call for it to be updated more frequently, I can accommodate that. In the interim the daily totals are kept here

If I may insert, there's a running, anonymously editable, list Here if you'd like to keep a track on your own and add any info that fits.

So there has indeed been some significant movement and as such I thought it would be better to show the new data as a line graph than a pie chart.

The chart only goes up to the 33rd place. There are 6 settlements tied for that spot. Settlements numbered 34-39 are listed in a footnote at the bottom.

Goblin Squad Member

Good job, Wiz!

Goblin Squad Member

Dang, we were going for a straight diagonal line. Recent growth has messed up our geometry.

And there are two groups at that level with lower guild numbers than EC. Actual 33rd place is "Green Mountain Militia" at the moment.

Goblin Squad Member

Hershey's is awful. Coffee is awful. Chocolate is amazing.

No point in using a tie-breaker, it will not be decided by order of guild id. Please continue to group them as you have been.

Great work!

Actually, according to the developers, Guild number is exactly how they ties will be broken. Oldest guilds will win ties. Unless that's changed lately.

Specifically, ties will be broken based on the order that guilds applied. It isn't clear whether the guild IDs are in the exact same order as the applications. For example, when ~20 guilds were added just after Memorial Day were they put up in the same order that they applied in?

Thus, guild ID is generally going to be a good indicator and may be correct in all circumstances, but we really don't know if it exactly matches application order.

You are quite correct. Although most guilds were approved in order some required further modifications before their applications could be accepted. This would cause their guild id to not match the order they applied in.

Goblin Squad Member

I stand corrected, I read earlier post to mean that factors such as who reached a level of interest first were deterministic rather than who was approved first.

The original statement from Lee was:

On the matter of ties, ties will be decided with older guilds getting the edge. I'll time the guilds from when we received the first guild application, rather than when we approved it.

Combined with Taylor's comment above we know that guild ID# is a pretty good guide, but may not be accurate in all cases.

Doesn't Hersheys, like, get their chocolate from suppliers that use child labor?

I actually think Hersheys does okay, as far as American chocolate is concerned. But I'm not much of a chocolate person. As long as it's decent, it's enough.

Goblin Squad Member

It is the opposite of decent, nay it goes beyond indecent to un-decent. It is not the worst chocolate out there, but that is akin to saying Acer is not the worst PC maker. They are still pretty terribad.

Thanks CBD, I totally misread that.
