Ok, I tried this a while back and got no takers. With more people have seeker level characters, I imagine it is more likely to get people now.

So I am contemplating a PbP (play by post)running of Eyes of the Ten. This is otherwise known as the retirement arc. You will need a 12th level PFS character (and only 12th, you can't have any other adventures done post 12th such as seeker level specials).

This is a long module, and people will have to be very active to make PbP happen in a reasonable timeframe. If you cannot commit to multiple posts per day, this will really drag on.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Sounds like fun. Count me in.

5/5

I would possibly be interested. I have a character in range. I might need to be sold on the PbP format. I don't suppose I could talk you into doing it as several Roll20+Google Hangouts?

2/5

I could be talked into a series of those, but then we get into scheduling issues. I wouldn't mind getting it over with faster, but it depends on the people we get.

Grand Lodge 5/5

I would be interested, preferably PbP. I have an alchemist that will be level 12 as soon as he finishes a PbP he's currently in. (with one of Savage's aliases) I also know another player who has been waiting for an EotT PbP.

Sovereign Court 4/5

I would definitely be interested in this. The local area has been trying to get one together for nearly a year with no success.

Ranger 10/Rogue 2 (or Ranger 11 / Rogue 1, can't remember, honestly...) ready and willing if this does get off the ground.

Ask Ser Chapman; I'm not entirely new to PbP, though I still have much to learn.

I might could do this.

Inquisitor 11.2, who's waiting for Vengeance at Sundered Crag to make 12. If y'all need to get rolling before August, I completely understand and KULIK will catch it another time.

FYI: Sior does just fine in PbP. :-)

5/5

My character is a 12th level cavalier. Sword and board, light armor, cloak of displacement(minor). Kind of treat him as a barbarian. Tends to take a lot of damage.

2/5

Once I have enough people (it's a rough module, so you probably want a balanced and full table) I intend to get started. I certainly hope that happens before August.

Sovereign Court 4/5

Savage Vengeance - Barbarian(?)
Jeremy Chapman - Alchemist
Sior - Ranger
Chris Rathunde - Inquisitor
Geoffrey Griffith - Cavalier

With that current list, I'm seeing no healing (beyond the Alchemist and Ranger doing Cure wands) and no face. Of course, that is simply going off the classes. I have no idea what the characters are =P Who knows, the inquisitor may be very healsy.

(Also, I just checked and it is Ranger 10/Rogue 2. Also worth mentioning is lack of trapfinding. Archetype. Mundane traps? Fine. Magical? Who wants to blow up?)

No worries. I wanted to be clear about my plans for the PC, so if someone else comes along and you all get going, I'll find another table.

(It should be pointed out that I'm going to PaizoCon, where this is set to debut, and if I can get in a table of it between all my GMing, KULIK would be ready post-PaizoCon.)

KULIK's a ranged Inquisitor, but does have all the happy stick goodness. No channels though, obviously; and no 5th level spell goodies until 13.

Remember Eyes of the Ten is designed for 4 PCs who don't level to 13 half way through it.

I wouldn't worry too much about party balance and instead bring the fun!

The Exchange 5/5

My alchemist is a cryptbreaker archetype, so he has Disable and Trapspotter.

Umm, yeah. Right. Designed for 4 players with no nod to balance.

Have you actually played it?

Of course its reputation as a meat grinder is just a myth and it is just Candyland. Right. </sarc>

I have both played it and GMed it.

At least here in the Bay Area it has no reputation as a "meat grinder" and instead has a reputation as an awesome retirement series that is hard to coordinate.

Well I guess you must have the varsity of players around there, because around here people do regard it as a meat grinder and are careful to go in with balanced teams, and generally list off their number of deaths afterwards.

I don't know that there has been a group who has done it in this area without at least one death and usually multiples.

Lantern Lodge 5/5

Isn't level 12 way past the point where death is even a setback?

Somewhere around level 8 (maybe earlier) death is at most an "untill the end of the encounter" effect at worst.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Something about Channeled Revival, first aid gloves, etc.

2/5

That would be if you happen to have a cleric or oracle on hand.

Or scrolls. Or first aid gloves(again).

Grand Lodge 2/5

I am happy that so many people are interested. Savage is indeed a level 12 vanilla barbarian. I don't know if this is a meat grinder or even a walk in the park, I just want to play the scenario and have fun role playing.

Sovereign Court 4/5

After having a rough time with Bonekeep 1 a year ago, I have been more wary of party balance. Not saying everything has to be covered, just would prefer a little diversity in the party.

That said, the general consensus here is for it to be run with 4 or 5 PCs, never 6, with faction missions and not leveling to 13 half way through. Basically, run as intended.

Grand Lodge 2/5

The alchemist that is interested is more than enough rogue to handle any of those situations. So are we back on track? I have not seen too many high level clerics running around the society PbP threads.

Bonekeep is deadly I have only played part II, but I doubt EotT is comparable. Bonekeep is meant to be difficult by design.

Removed some derailing posts.

The Exchange 5/5

The other player I know is a cleric. I'll point him over here.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Definitely interested. Cleric of Abadar

2/5

So who all do we have now and more to the point who do we have who can get started soon?

Grand Lodge 2/5

I can start as soon, as I take time to level up the online version of my character. I am willing to wait on the Alchemist/Rogue and Cleric though.

Sovereign Court 4/5

By my count:

Savage Vengeance - Barbarian
Jeremy Chapman - Alchemist
Sior - Ranger
Chris Rathunde - Inquisitor
Geoffrey Griffith - Cavalier
Hugo Victor - Cleric

I can start whenever.

My group of Eyes of the 10 had an Alchemist, a Bard, an Inquisitor, and 3 Witches.

We did just fine.

Ezrek (Jeremy) is on vacation with his family through the end of this weekend, but I know he wants to play.

I have a 12 (33xp) for this...

Archer built fighter...

2/5

OK, I'll get to buying and reading up the module, then starting the game thread in the online game section. I'll post a link here when it is up. Sounds like we have six people ready.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Great, I'll update this weekend then.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Yeah, I definitely would like in, as Chris graciously voiced for me. As I stated earlier, Ezrek is in the final combat of a PbP and should done by, hopefully, in a few days.

2/5

OK here is the thread in online campaigns. Everyone able to get started in the near term, please get posting over there so I know who we have on board.

Sovereign Court 4/5

Checked in with the character of choice, Samhain Galanodel. Let's see if he can survive this and go on to live out his destiny.
