The Land Rush Just Went Live!

We are not sending an update to Kickstarter backers yet - we figured we would let the forum warriors give it a shakedown cruise before we deluge it with 8,000+ backers.

Please let us know in this thread if you have any problems with the Leaderboard or the Land Rush tech.

We know there are still people who have not been able to transfer their accounts from paizo.com to goblinworks.com. please email us directly if you are affected - unless: You are an Alpha backer of the 1st Kickstarter, or you purchased your Enrollment on the Goblin Squad Store on paizo.com. Those folks will be transferred by a process we are still working out.

Everyone else:

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?!?!

Well, even if someone has applied to found a guild, they do have to be manually approved before being recognized by the website.

Goblin Squad Member

So how exactly are you suppose to transfer your account?

Try the instructions at https://goblinworks.com/paizo-account-link/

If you have any issues try the FAQ link on that page and if you don't fall into any of those cases contact us.

Got it fixed thank you very much.

Seventh Veil is the first guild approved!

Goblin Squad Member

Founded a guild, but waiting for approval.

Goblin Squad Member

I am confused, I thought those of us in the "top 3" from the first land rush were ineligible for this one?

Goblin Squad Member

They can still found a guild and recruit they just will not have a vote in the rush.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm wondering who I have to buy a drink for in order to get an approval around here.

Strike that! I now owe someone a drink! We're on the list!

We'll ignore those guilds when computing results for the draft. But you are welcome to add yourself to the leaderboard and publicize your guild. We want all the guilds to move into the game pretty soon.

That will be me - at least until Lee takes over tonight.

That fact is strongly stated in our description. At the very least, I wanted to have a place for everybody who was ineligible to vote again to gather and cheer.

Sadly, no. It was awesome last year, but I will be very busy in the early stages of Early Enrollment this time. I think Lee, Ryan, and Lisa will be attending though.

I guess I'll have to buy you a drink by proxy and fill their tankards up a time or two. Hopefully they'll pay it forward to you. ;)

How long is the approval process?

Goblin Squad Member

I can not link my Paizo Account and my Gobin Works Accounts. I have gone through all of the pledge steps as a KS2 pledge, and when I hit send for the email verification it said it could not add my KS items.

I tried sending an email to customer service and my email sent me an error message that the customer service email is not valid.

But, you ARE going to be at PaizoCon, right? RIGHT?

Yep! We'll all be there.

Goblin Squad Member

It's still saying I'm not enrolled. Email had already been sent.

Goblin Squad Member

Here we go now the guilds are starting to pile up.

*waves at the pile*

The approval process is done manually so it takes as long as it takes someone (normally Lee, but technically any goblin with admin privileges to the site such as Mark or myself) to read through your name, motto, description and visit your website to confirm that it doesn't have anything we don't want on the site.

Until EE begins, this is the only way they can ban you.

=P

Just kidding, of course! I hope you get your problem solved soon so you can get set up in the Land Rush =)

Bluddwolf, my problem turned out to be non-alphanumeric characters in my Goblinworks password. If that's you as well, get rid of those, do the link, and then change back to whatever you like.

lol, I'm having trouble too, it's a plot vs Chaos.

Goblin Squad Member

I sent an email to customer support, I think my issue is with this:

Kickstarter items could not be reported to Goblinworks. Please try again later.

As a final step, you will need to submit your pledge to Goblinworks, including a username and password. We do not retain this information and have no means of retrieving it, so please record it securely. If you need further help after this step, please contact Goblinworks Customer Support at
customer.support@goblinworks.com.

Ack! Land rush! Sleeping!

Seriously... you know you've become obsessive when you pause to check the forums after briefly waking up in the middle of the night.

Off to set up guild.

Goblin Squad Member

So having a massive description is now ok... thought it was supposed to be brief.

Goblin Squad Member

Who has a massive description?

Goblin Squad Member

T7V is approaching what I might call massive, I guess.

Goblinworks Executive Founder

Our description for the land rush is briefer than our introduction on these forums.

I'm glad to see so many of our members are active enough to already have us making a strong showing, even though we know we're not going to be voting for a Settlement.

Goblin Squad Member

Best of luck to everyone and bludd I hope your issue is resolved swiftly.

These are very exciting times. I keep clicking refresh like it is a Wednesday blog post and we already have a settlement. Giddy as a school girl, boy, whatever!

Goblin Squad Member

It reminds me a lot of the first day the original Land Rush Poll went live... Good times, good times :)

Weird, I tried it on my iPad and it went right through.

Goblin Squad Member

If you used a different email address on Kickstarter you need a Claim Code. Please contact customer.service@paizo.com to request one.

This is the message I get when I try to link the accounts. Of course the FAQ gives me an error message as well.

Goblin Squad Member

Nice, and yeah I am pretty exited about this.

Goblin Squad Member

I'd randomly refreshed GoblinWorks.com and noticed the land rush. Quickly threw together our application and hopped over to the message boards figuring I was a day late and a dollar short...

I didn't realize that it had been up for less than 30m at that point.

Goblin Squad Member

Since my question was ignored (or just missed) in another thread concerning land rush 2, I want to re-ask it here.

Each week, and mainly for the week 10 final count, how will ties be decided? Since it is mainly just ranked by member counts, if several settlement/companies end up with a similar number of members, how will it be decided who makes it inside the top 30 and who are 31, 32, ect?

I feel this is an important question to ask, especially early in this land rush.

Goblin Squad Member

"The Goodfellow" wrote:

From what we saw watching the early stages, when there was a tie in the Member count, the guild that registered first had a higher ranking.

Goblin Squad Member

Was it not going by who got to the number first? That's what I thought I saw.

While Nihimon is correct in that the leaderboard decides ties via guild creation order, I would like to point out that the leaderboard is not the ultimate deciding factor for who gets a settlement. On each draft date the entire list of guilds along with number of members is pulled down and passed off to Lee for him to do !MATH! on before determining the final modified strength of each guild. I don't know the comprehensive list of modifiers but i know it takes into account how long a guild has staked a claim at a specific location.

hint: making a script once is less work than doing !MATH! again and again.

Also, tracking scores openly is a lot less suspicious than "well, but despite larger numbers you got bumped down to 11th place after Lee applied some forbidden arcana modifiers".
