Redemption Subdomain: Aura of Redemption

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

The Redemption sub-domain replace the standard Good Domains Holy Lance 8th level ability with the following:

Aura of Sanctification (Su): At 8th level, as an immediate action, you can emit a 30-foot-radius aura of sanctification for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. These rounds do not need to be consecutive. Within this aura, effects that are specifically harmful to good-aligned creatures are inverted so that they no longer harm good creatures and instead harm evil creatures. Similarly, effects that are specifically beneficial to evil creatures instead become beneficial only to good creatures.

I'm a little confused as to how this effect would work in practice. Most effects (Except smite good) don't specifically harm a specific alignment, they specifically don't harm one. For example, take the scariest of the bunch : Blasphemy.

Blasphemy harms all Non-Evil beings in the radius; so lets say a demon casts this at me and I activate the aura; does the blasphemy now harm evil and neutral creatures or is it not affected?

Secondly, what is an example of an effect that is specifically beneficial to Evil creatures? First I thought of things like unholy aura but those don't seem to strictly qualify.

As much as I hate necroing a thread it is nessesary and the topic itself is still unclear. I do have an interest in that subdomain and frankly I have no idea on what effect the aura actually works.

Does it only work on effects that actually deal damage or in general? "blasphemy" is indeed an excellent example of potential uses even if it seems quite powerful for such a low level ability.
If yes what about things that deal damage AND have some CC? Does it work against both or only the damage part?

What about the second part? Beneficial specifically against evil? That even outrules "protection from good" since that helps neutral hell even good casters as well.

Please some clarification is desperately needed.

There was a post that said it was ok to necro a thread so I'm doing it now, since apparently no one has answered this question still and I too am really interested in knowing the answer to this.

Some notes:

A. "Harmful to nonevil creatures" is equivalent to "harmful to good creatures" plus "harmful to neutral creatures".
B. "Harmful" is not limited to damage. Killing, inflicting a status condition, and so on would all be considered harmful.

Addressing the first post:

1. Blasphemy would be harmful to evil creatures and neutral creatures within the aura. Not a bad counter to a demon or devil casting this on you at close range. (Note that if the demon is not within Alice's aura of sanctification, it won't be harmed by its own blasphemy--but at least neither will Alice!)

2. Some examples: a hamatulatsu robe; a talisman of ultimate evil. I haven't found any spells that are specifically beneficial to evil creatures, though there may be some that are specifically beneficial to the caster's moral alignment. The harm-inverting effect is much more useful.
