Are we forced to the conclusion that the design, rather than your understanding of it, is bass ackwards? Not really.

@ Bluddwolf, Xeen, any others opposed

I weary of this. I never had any agenda of convincing you guys of anything. If my point has not been made (by now) to the people that do the designing, then it never will be.

The intent is not to make S&D useless. The intent is to add risk to it (for the bandit) and to force meaningful choices (sometimes) when it is used. It does not even need to be a "/tell" thing. It just needs to not be a way around consequences. You would still have the ability to hit "non factioned" targets. Some might reject the S&D. You make the choice at that time: "Is it worth it?" None of this takes away the benefit of getting loot from targets outside of faction - feud - war and not losing rep when they accept. The argument that it is useless to S&D (in those conditions) is "weak sauce".

A criminal flag is not adequate risk for the power that S&D allows (as described). You still get to pick the time, the place, and the power is all yours. You have always said that you would attack groups that you are pretty sure you could beat in a fight. Nothing is different here. You issue the S&D and the target's options are limited thereafter. It matters little whether you agree with the obvious or not. It is what it is...

Rebuttal please. It is your chance to have the last word on the issue (with me), for today at least. ;)

By removing the criminal flag via the use of tells rather than a S&D mechanic, you are actually lowering the risk to the bandit - the victim and any third parties can no longer intercede. You are however replacing this risk with repercussions in the form of reputation loss (assuming combat occurs).

As I've said before, I think the solution is to add a cost to S&D to make it the equivalent of other PvP activities.

Are you half-dozen people done having the exact same discussion with the same complete inability to cover new ground yet?

It would please me greatly if you would all just stop talking about this topic. A ridiculous amount of messages on this forum are the same people saying the same things to each other over and over and over, usually at the very edge of civility.

Just let it go.

Negative, I am a meat pop-sickle.

I think this is what you get when you are crowdforging with only 25 rabid fans who are all waiting for the game to go into alpha.

I agree with you that things get regurgitated a lot here, but we could use some new flesh, and well, alpha. :D

You sound a bit stressed, I have absolutely no idea why. ;)

Well in all fairness to this "dirty half dozen", the alternative for the last year and a half was probably no messages on these forums.

Rofl.... "No"!

And, if you're not at the very edge of something, you're not living!

Yes, it is our secret ploy to get us into Alpha..... We will be quieter on the forums if we are bust playing the game.

In the forest clearing you see a wild-eyed Being trussed up in thick ropes, a gag over his mouth. He is urgently gesturing with his head toward a small shrubbery tippy-toeing around behind you...

Almost certainly no.

We were distracted a lot by the map stuff. Maybe you could distract us more with a bestiary or more about what abilities can be slotted to a trophy implement. If we get distracted enough, we won't come back to this particular subject until there's something new to discuss.

Well, some of us will try.

I apologize profusely for completely misreading this post when I quoted it. Ryan is stating this as an assumption (presumably incorrect), not as a fact
