Piecemeal Armor

Rules Questions

Is it balanced well? I have something to say about eastern armor pieces.

I want to make an orc gladiator/barbarian, so want to take theese pieces:

Hands - Lamellar, horn
Legs - Hide armor
Torso - Four-mirror armor

So we have +8 Armor Bonus (Even if we are not a gladiator), -4 check penalty, 30% of A.S. failure and +4 (!) DEX bonus.

The cost is 48 (!!!) gold pieces.

Am I right? I think it's not balanced well and four-mirror armor needs to be a heavy armor, like plate.

Sorry, 05 check penalty and 35% A.S. Failure

I do not see anything saying you can't do that but you may have a hard time getting a set of that masterwork or magic.

48 GC for a suit of armor, that is MUCH better than a full-plate and is lighter (medium).

I think it's absolutely UNbalanced, but obly for Kikko armor and Four-mirror armor.

Maybe,, it's a mistake?

Scarab Sages

No, it isn't balanced at all. You can easily make armor that is better in literally every way for, I'm pretty sure, all armors. It makes the standard armor table obsolete.
