I still want to do a closer examination of everyone's crunch to make sure it is right, and I also want to tweak everyone's background slightly.

Otherwise discuss away before the campiagn begins!

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

Crunch will be forthcoming. The file I pasted into the recruitment thread post is at home, so I'll get it up tonight. In the meantime, I'll just be sitting down here on the Group W bench with the rest of the mother stabbers and father rapers.

"What were you arrested for, kid?" "Littering. And creating a nuisance."

HPs: 10/10 AC 18 FF 13 T 18 CMD 21 Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +5; Init +4; Perception +7

Thanks for the selection, GM! I enjoyed his history so much I was going to make him an NPC in one of my games even if he wasn't selected.

Reporting promptly for mayhem and vengeance. Can't wait to see Talingarde burn!

I really liked it as well and others have said you are a great player and GM and hoped that a certain "Savage Tide" game may one day be resurrected.

I loved that ST game. I'll try and track the players down.

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

Steinki (aka Baolo) checking in :) So, you've got one of us Lucendar if you ever get ready to restart it! Otherwise, just looking forward to playing with you again!

I think my crunch is done, though I'll probably take a pass through to do more linking to the PRD when I get a chance. With all of the class abilities for the Gestalt character, I'll need it.

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

This could be a very interesting start if Hugh doesn't speak Dwarven :)

Garrett Ash Hunt:

I guess you can't do quotes in spoiler labels....

Reviewing your Crunch I see the following errors: (all in your favor)

Stats I come up with a 24 point buy. This may be where you put your +2 bonus, but if the +2 boosted one of the 16 scores it is at 24 and you have 1 extra point!

Skills You get 2 bonus skills so you should be getting 4 from monk +1 human +2 bonus for 7/level

Spells As a follower of Asmodeus, you can spontaneous cast Infernal Healing so you don't need to have it memorized. Also for future remembrance, a 2nd level infernal heal last 2 minutes and 3rd 3 minutes. A 4th level cast equals a greater infernal heal which does 4hp/round for a minute.

Feats OK, assuming Deflect Arrows is your bonus monk feat along with monk feats of Improved Unarmed Strike and Elemental Strike. I then assume your Human bonus is dodge with Crane style being your 1st level feat. You still have a non combat bonus feat to choose from

Background I want the information about what the Everwinter brothers did all come from the investigator. As far as Garret knows the information is all true. I have some additional things that happened which he will discover eventually.

HPs: 10/10 AC 18 FF 13 T 18 CMD 21 Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +5; Init +4; Perception +7

GM Blood:

Better to make underpowered than overpowered, right? Thanks!
1. Ok, I put the point in upping Con to 13.
2. Missed the 2 skill points in your recruitment: Linguistics +4 (Infernal), Sense Motive +7
3. Ok, memorized Protection from Good instead (how many times per day can I cast Infernal healing?)
4. Non-combat feat: Skill Focus: Perception

Maybe someone will adjust their languages. Otherwise dwarves, while not uncommon, are definitely expected to know the common language of Talingarde in this human centric kingdom. It would be less likely someone in Talingarde would know dwarven. Of course your companions could learn some dwarf and you could learn some common.

Steinki Uðr:

Stats I normally am hesitant on letting characters have two negative stats before adjustment and having one below 8. I know you can pull it off though.

Traits One of your two traits must be your crime.

Feats You get a bonus non combat feat

Background The only change I would make is the plan was solid, but with the traitor it went horribly wrong right away and had no chance. There is more to the story then he knows.....muhahahaha

Garrett:

You can cast it as many times as you have spells left available. It is just like a good cleric that can swap out any spell for a cure spell spontaneously.

Lueck:

Crunch looks solid all around.

Background: The only additional thing was your cell started doing small time kills and wanted to work themselves up to higher profile things. Unfortunately with that incident they were all wiped out. It should have gone much better.

HPs: 10/10 AC 18 FF 13 T 18 CMD 21 Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +5; Init +4; Perception +7

GM Blood:

Thanks for the info on Infernal healing, I understand now!
Also switched out my rank in Climb for Disguise; otherwise my domain spell (Disguise Self) would not be as effective. So in my background, instead of stealthily climbing into the Everwinter house, I cast Disguise Self and entered as a servant. Makes sense!

You feel an ominous presence as if you are all being watched...

Oh, and ... dot.

Welcome Gary! This crew is going to have a lot of fun! Hope you enjoy the ride as much as we're going to.

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

Most of Hugh's character sheet is together, though I still have to paste in the special for the Empyreal bloodline.

This is mainly for Lucendar as the other three know what I do as a GM already but here goes the rundown:

Now to combat here is what I look for from you:

In your character sheet I want you to fill out two rows:

Race Gestalt Human Monk (Monk of the Four Winds) 1/Cleric of Asmodeus 1

Class/Levels On this row I would like to have the the important stats of your character. This is for up to the minute numbers and not for historical. Please put the following on that list (with your own numbers, of course)

HPs 36/36 AC 22 FF 21 T 11 CMD 18 Fort +10, Ref +6, Will +8 Init +1 Per +0
Also you can put spoiler tag on that if you wish

This gets updated so when you get hurt in battle you adjust your current hps, or if you charge and have -2 to AC, put () after AC with the adjusted number (above would be 20)

During the fight in your round I would like a status post at the end. In it I would all important information of your current status such as

[spoiler=Current Status]
HP 36/36
AC 22
Effects bless
Lay on Hands 7/day Used - [2]
Smite Evil (2/day) Used - [0]
[/spoiler

This can be in any format you want as long as it has all the important data.

The reason for these two things is one for historical purposes (The status in your post) and one is for me during combat so I can easily check what AC I need to hit or CMD to beat.

On my posts in combat I will roll a lot of things in a spoiler like the one below. On my home game and this one I believe in open rolls for 99.9% of everything so you can look, but it is under the spoiler tag to lessen the clutter and for those that don't like to see that.

On my GM Blood profile I will have everyone's initiative ready to go and at the beginning of combat I will roll in the spoiler and then post something like the following

Quote:

Round 1

Initiative Order - Troll, Hugh, Steinki, Garret, Lueck

Troll AC 16 T 11 FF 14 CMD 22

In the example above the trolls when initiative and already gone. Anyone bold still has to go, anyone not bolded has already gone. After the first round I pretty much run it your turn then your turn so no need to wait for the others ahead of you to post, you can post at any time. If timing is crucial then just say I wait until after so and so goes (Say you want to wait to get flanking so you say on my turn I will go after Daimon then attack to get sneak attack and do your rolls)

Of course you probably might not know the monster or how to defeat them. In that case I will post extra information like:

Knowledge (local) DC 16:
This gangly, rubbery, greenish humanoid is a troll. Trolls speak Giant.

Knowledge (local) DC 21:
A troll is a fearless combatant with a ravenous appetite for raw flesh. Trolls have a strong sense of smell and can see in the dark.

Knowledge (local) DC 26:
A troll quickly regenerates most forms of damage, and can even regrow or reattach severed body parts. However, a troll cannot regenerate fire or acid damage

You can always read any spoiler that is less that the result you rolled. So if you rolled a 23 you could read both the first and second spoilers.

I'll also do my best to keep what is happening in combat easy to understand. Attacks will be something like the following (Vs AC 22)

Troll attack Claw #1 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 5) + 7 = 16

Troll attack Claw #2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 *Hit*
Damage 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 6) + 7 = 18

Also I will be doing my best to provide combat maps. This will be located on google drive using their drawing feature. It will be in a similar format as This Link *Beware possible Age of Worms Spoiler*

The monsters are numbered and a co-ordinate grid will be there for movement and attack. I keep track of the damage done to the monsters on the left hand side, and there are condition markers that I can use. This will be a static link that never changes and will be located at the top of any page in the campaign Haven't made it yet however

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

I am amused that one of Hugh's sorcerer abilities is Heavenly Fire--damages evil targets and heals good ones.

Hugh, you can reverse that if you would like, a gift from Asmodeus.

Of course it could be a good thing to have when in disguise! ;)

The map is up at the top of the screen. It isn't combat now, but anytime there is combat the combat map will be located at that link.

The map shows where you are and where the guards currently are. It may be hard to tell, but everything except the outside walls and the strange room to your right (left of the map) are prison bars and can be seen throw. The guards however would have a tough view through the cell to their left and are 80-90 feet away.

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

The thought crossed my mind. Although even if he starts out with unmodified Heavenly Fire, at some point I see that changing; if he survives to L20 he gets unlimited wings of heaven, but by that time I don't think his wings would look particularly angelic. Better groomed than that.

Also, I think I've got his character sheet finished.

Just to let everyone know, I will be gone from Thursday through Sunday to GaryCon. I may have an opportunity to post something quick here and there, but I wouldn't expect it. I will pick things back up on Monday or maybe even Sunday night.

Have a great time GM Blood!

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

In general, is a holy symbol required to use domain powers? (Specifically, does Hugh need a holy symbol to use Fire Bolt?)

I would say you could use them without having one

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

BTW, I was looking back over the Discussion thread and saw that you'd checked everyone else's crunch & backstories before I finalized my character sheet. Did you get a chance to review it?

Dotting again. It appears my first post didn't do the trick.

Current Status:

HP 12/12
AC 15
Effects: None
Smite Evil (1/day) Used – 0
Villain Points: 0

HPs: 10/10 AC 18 FF 13 T 18 CMD 21 Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +5; Init +4; Perception +7

I assume the rest of the party with the ogre is in the southern room by the stairs, correct?

I would guess that they moved there after you went into the grand hall and closed the door. What order would everyone like to be in?

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

Since Hugh is dressed in the second guard's tabard, he'll be out in front.

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

Steinki moves in behind Hugh.

Since Lueck is the most out of place person other than Grumblejack, he'll remain far enough behind to stay out of sight, waiting for Hugh or Ash to turn a corner before advancing up behind them.

I think Hugh is staying behind the door before the great hallway, just being in front of the door just in case.

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

Exactly. Steinki is probably close behind you guys in out of placedness (perhaps ahead of Lueck), but I figure they probably can't see him or Lueck behind Hugh :)

I just wanted to check quickly: I hope that last action and post wasn't too over the top for anyone. If it was, just PM me to let me know and I'll dial it back.

I loved it!

Gestalt Human Inquisitor|Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline) 2 ***INACTIVE*** HP 17/17 AC 12 FF 10 T 12 CMD 12 Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +6 (+1 vs. divine spells) Init +5 Per +8

No problem, although Hugh had an idea to lay a false trail through them.

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

I thought it was fine too. Steinki's on board with killing everyone we can. It's exactly the type of terror the dwarves were looking to spread before getting caught.

FYI, I am on the road tomorrow so no big posts from me until tomorrow night but I may be able to do a phone post here and there

Just to let everyone know, I will be taking a road trip with my wife to Cleveland this Thursday through Sunday and will most likely be not posting too much. (though I may have some time later at night at the hotel).

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

No worries. I'll be traveling to Ireland for a family vacation from the 19th to the 29th. Still expecting to post 1/day, but if I slow at all, that's why and you have ok to GM PC Steinki to keep it moving.

That sounds great! I hope the trip is for something fun.

Other than to just get away for a short and relatively cheap mini vacation, heading to see the Football Hall of Fame (I'm a huge football fan) and the house where they filmed "A Christmas Story" among other places including some great looking places to eat we have seen on various Food Network shows

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

Oh yeah, this one is 100% vacation! Should be a great time!

I will be on the road for work the next two days and Friday will probably be busy for me as well. Saturday I am running a basic D&D game for my friend's birthday at my house (X2 Castle Amber) so expect light posting through the weekend. I will try and pop in every now and again when I can.

I'm going and try to get a post in tomorrow night however

Wow. Castle Amber. That brings back some memories! I ran that for AD&D in the day, and I particularly remember

Spoiler:
one player trying to trigger an event (in a room with a gemstone) over and over so he could get the same white hair effect that another player did because he thought it would look cool on his thief.
Good times!

Stats:
AC 15/11/14 HP 14/14, F+4 R+1 W+7, Init +5, Per +9

That's one I never had or played and I didn't miss many from the AD&D days. Love that spoiler. So old school :)

Yep playing Basic D&D rules like when we were kids! Breaking out my retired set of dice, my first set I got in the Red Box!
