As the adventure suggests, I tried to add the 3.5 module 'Seven Swords of Sin' into the Campaign, changing some things here and there.
So they enter the lair of Tirana and encounter the 'pile of gold-trap'.
I didn't want to use the grey render that was trapped behind that so I exchanged that with a Ceustodaemon.
Now in the first round that daemon used his breathweapon, which seemed to scare the characters enough that they fled the lair, telepathically thanking Gnaeus (one of the PC's now) for setting him free on the city.
The group retreated to the 'Sorry Excuse', resting and healing and once they got back to Tirana's lair found the surrounding buildings burnt down and smoldering, but no further trace of the ceustodaemon.
Now: as far as I can see, the daemon has no way of getting back to his plane on his own, so his devastation of the city is the next best thing he does.
Most likely the duskwardens will see to this threat to the city, but what else may evolve from this situation?
(I'm a bit stumped that they let the daemon escape)

answer provided from PRD: :)
"Some claim the Four Horsemen created these creatures to serve as summoning fodder. Others believe that they form from neutral evil souls who commit suicide. Wherever the truth lies, ceustodaemons find themselves on the Material Plane more often than any other daemon, as they are easily pressured into service—many call these creatures “guardian daemons” as a result. Yet in the back of their wicked minds, ceustodaemons always think about escaping their bonds and ripping to shreds the ones who summoned them."
failing that, I would imagine the daemon breaking into a prison or asylum and assisting helpless souls in committing suicide (a bit dark though, so I would instead roleplay this as "the daemon seems to actively target anyone not running away from his screaming" i.e. someone who, in his eyes, has a death wish)

I'm aware of the ceustodaemon wanting to crush whoever summoned and trapped it in Tirana's lair. That's why it burnt down some surrounding buildings first, before it will attack the lair itself.
Ok, so the Ardocs will send some golems if it's not been dealt with in a matter of days, or if their district is under attack.
The duskwardens (well, Abra) will look into that as well, probably being on site to investigate, just when the PC's come out of the lair the next time, or meeting them at the 'Sorry Excuse' as Abra met up with the group there after the scene in the halflight path.
