Silver Crusade 4/5

When I ran it, I had a party of four play it.

Here was their loadout:

Elven Necromancer 12 (What couldn't this character do?)
Human Cleric of Asmodeus 12 (Negative Energy Channeler)
Elven Witch 12 (All the Healz, and Slumber Hex. Need I say more?)
Elven Ranger 12 (Switch Hitter, with a concentration on Archery)

This group absolutely dominated. Combat was practically meaningless to them, as they had a nigh-unbeatable combination of buffing, debuffing, save or suck spells and pure damage in numbers for monsters of any type.

What truly impressed me, however, was the excellence of their roleplay. Truly, that is what matters. We actually managed to do the first part in 6 hours, which is amazing. Other than that, pretty much went as expected.

Melee druid
Dwarven fighter/barbarian
Negative channeling cleric
Cleric mammoth rider
Unhittable monk martial artist urban barbarian
Rogue shadow dancer

We rocked it pretty well with no deaths but plenty of close calls, particularly in part one.

Silver Crusade 5/5

I have been lucky enough to play the Eyes of the 10 twice.

The First time was two years ago, and the second time, using my replay stars, was this past winter.

The first party consisted of

Dwarven Fighter 12 (archer) Silver Crusade

Elven Wizard 1 Ranger 5 Arcane Archer 6 Andoran

Human Wizard 12 Evoker Osirion

Sorcerer 6 Cleric 6 Qadiran

Mystic Theurge cleric 3 (pharasma) Wizard 3 (necromancer) / Mystic Theruge 6 Andoran

We had some struggles, but managed to get through. We had allot of fun role playing.

The Second time

the Party consisted of

Human Inquisitor Asmdeus, 12 Cheliax

1/2 orc Barbarian 12 Andoran

Human Fighter 12 Archer Andoran

Human Ranger 7/ Rogue 5 Andoran

Elf Magus 10/ Arcane Archer 2 Grand Lodge

Human Druid 3 Wizard 3 Mystic Theurge 6 Cheliax

Again we had a good time, some challenging fights, and role playing challenges, Chelliaxians!

whatever you do, don't play with a gnome who has a rod of wonder. this will haunt your dreams (like it does mine).

There is reason I finished "Eyes of the Ten" a shade of deepest azure.

I can work it, though.

Trendsetter.

Pharasma would strike this player down, wouldn't she? She hates necromancers.

She hates people who create undead, not necessarily people who practice necromancy.

We've got one of our favorites, too. Should be a fantastic time! Glad we didn't have to worry about getting a good GM.

Such a brown-noser. Just for that I'm going to try and kill you and just you.

Just kidding. I'm flattered. You should all be safe, it's not like I've ever killed any of the characters in your group, right ... right?

Characters in the group? Nope, not that I remember. Not yet anyway :P

Now Characters NOT in the group... that's a different story. Poor Adon. All frozen up.

Looking forward to it, we're all almost or already there!

Perhaps. I thought Pharasma hated the Undead. I made this character back in 09 using the core rule book. My character concept was a character who, like ying and yang, felt that in order to fully understand life, you had to understand death, and in order to fully understand death you had to understand life. He had the healing domain and the repose domain. The Cleric class gave my character access to positive energy and he was able to Turn Undead with a feat, and with his levels of Necromancer, with negative energy he was able to command the undead....ying and yang so to speak. I realized that concept simply wasn't going to work, so I abandoned it and went into Mystic Theurge. It wasn't until a few years later that Versatile Channeler feat was put out in Ultimate Magic.

He always used his necromancy to control, restrain, and destroy the undead. When he controlled undead, he would either have them turn on each other, or on their animator. Then he would destroy whatever undead he seized control of right after the battle. He never animated the undead, and would actively destroy them.

One trick I liked was using Spectral hand to deliver Cure spells...and when combined with the Arcane Eye spell, he could send the invisible eye and spectral hand into another room to deliver a shocking grasp and other fun stuff.

I hope this answers your question.

My Cleric of Pharasma has Command Undead.. typically to turn them on their fellows..then lay down while some big beatstick with a huge earthbreaker finishes them off. Then she prays over their shattered remains and the rest.

Yeah the language for Clerics of Pharasma controlling undead is not as strong as creating undead. It is frowned upon, not specifically forbidden

I just finished GMing it we had:

Murder Hobo Dwarven Barbarian
Chelaxian Sarenrae Cleric
Bard Cleric
Half-Orc Natural Weapons Fighter meat-wall
Charismatic Rogue
and a Summoner that spammed Rod of Wonder with a Merciful Eidolon who only did non lethal damage.

They did exceptionally well except for the last fight, total deaths and Breaths of life for the series was 8.

I fix.

We had a rough time with Part 1; I remember when Rukk ran through three walls of _____ spells in a single round.

That hurt pretty good.

We like to cast monk. Often. It's usually enough to put majicky hijinx into lockdown.

That said, there used to be moments earlier, moments before improved evasion, when we could see nothing but blood.

Yay improved evasion!

Go for a real challenge. Do the entire series with one hand tied behind your back. :)

True story, I have a character who has opened season 0-1 fights by exaggeratingly placing one fist in the small of his own back, wrapping his sash around his wrist, and gesturing with his other hand at his opponents to bring it on.

Granted, he is a monk, so it wasn't a particular hindrance, so I went ahead and deliberately did not use his Dex bonus to AC in those fights. :)
