Cricket has it wrong.
The rules aren't about finding reasons why not, but finding rules why.
Arcanists are not wizards. Arcane Discoveries are an exclusive class property of the wizard class. Unless the Arcanist is changed to add discoveries to the class options, you're only recourse is a permissive GM.

That seems a fairly reasonable assumption, and one that I'd probably houserule even if it doesn't show up in the final book.
Also, given what the devs have said about the ACG, it sounds like there are going to be feats and ways for other classes to pick up some of the abilities of the new classes, too, so again- wouldn't be surprised to see it work the other way around (especially because, as you note, they already have a limited access to certain Wizard/Sorcerer abilities if they so choose to use exploits to select them.)

true. At the same time though I wish that there abilities were a bit stronger, like a greater exploit that allows them to treat those abilities as half their class level, and then spend arcane points to treat it as full level for a limited time (minutes per level).

Your not wrong Cricket, LazarX is referring to the fact that as we know so far as written, they can't access arcane discoveries. But the rest of us are saying house rules wise it is possible with some delay in access being most likely.
