FACEPALM

edit: I in no way believe this justifies slippery slope arguments.

So here's the thing. Sometimes there actually is a slippery slope. Not all slippery slope arguments are fallacious; the slippery slope FALLACY is when the arguer refuses to recognize a further logical stopping point.

That said, I'd like to officially come out against human-animal marriages.
Also, the dog is also female so it's also gay marriage.

I don't know.

I read this sentence--"A Britishiznoid woman says she has finally found the true meaning of marriage now that she has divorced her husband and married her dog"--and all I can do is giggle.

Liberty's Edge

It isn't really an example of a slippery slope, especially since she's not the first nutty person to "marry" a pet or a car or a wall or a bridge.

Why is Nanny Fine holding a rat?

The Exchange

This is dumb and i do not se it having anything to do with "slippery slope" but there are going to be plenty of people to say "what about us" if marriage laws change.

The slippery slope referenced is that of Rick Santorum et al. who have said that if the US allows gay marriage, next people will be marrying animals.

Which is an incredibly stupid position. This was a tongue in cheek reference to Rick sitting in his parlor exclaiming "I TOLD YOU SO!!!".

True. Richard Gere might get mad if this lady tries to claim to be the first.

Although...I don't think he ever actually married that gerbil...

I'm a bit surprised she decided to tie the knot - her beloved seems to be a real b*+~&.

Hey, LGBT folks didn't object when a Neanderthal like Santorum married a female Sapiens human, so Ricky should keep his mouth shut.

{ponders how much the National Enquirer would pay for a tell-all "Santorum and Goblin Did It in the Street" exposé}

Not nearly as much as the kickstarter I'll start so we DON"T have to see that.

The Exchange

Well, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better...

They look like they've got some santorum on them.

Liberty's Edge
