Gencon 2014 pickup for Skull & Shackles

How do we go about placing an order that we would like to pick up at Gencon for the new base set and character pack?

If you are a subscriber, as GenCon nears there is be a button you can toggle on your subscription indicating you want Paizo to take it to GenCon for you to pick up. They will do that. They will hold it for you and not sell it to someone else, even if they run out of inventory for new sales until the end of the day Saturday. So you don't have to stand in line as soon as you get there and can come back later when the line is shorter.

Correct—and note that that checkbox won't be visible until shortly after the July subscription run concludes.

If we're attending GenCon, it won't be shipped to us while we're there right? :) I'd rather not pick it up at the con, I dislike dragging extra stuff while I'm traveling. Carry-ons for the win! Even two week and change trips to europe I manage with one carryon.. it can be done if you have access to laundry. And I always ship the family/friend/office gifts back instead.. its a little expensive but sooooooo convenient..

If you don't check the box to pick it up at GenCon, then it will go out with the normal shipping run. I'm fairly sure that shipping run won't even start until after GenCon. Though someone from Paizo could confirm that with more certainty.

It's a bit too early to say what the shipping schedule for August will be, but generally, we try to ship subscriber shipments out the week of the con if not sooner, so whether you pick it up at the show or have it mailed to you, there shouldn't be more than a few days difference (for domestic customers).

Are we still charged shipping to pick it up at Gencon? If thats the case, I might just let it get shipped to my house. I'll be getting enough new things at Gencon, and I am fine not playing this there.

You aren't charged shipping if you pick it up at GenCon. But you will have to pay the 7% Indiana sales tax.

Starting now, you can go to your My Subscription page and select subscription pick up at Gen Con.

Email will go out tomorrow morning hopefully (but if you see this post you don't need that email to go opt in).

So the S&S base set is not listed in the example shipment area but the add-on deck and AP2 are. Should I be concerned?

Hmm....Mine lists Skull and Shackles Base Set and Character Add-on deck for August and Adventure Deck 2 for September in the example subscription shipments. So there might be something up there. But I'm sure Customer Service can get that fixed for you.

Oh decisions decisions. Last year I told my brother to remind me not to do Gen Con pickup again... but of course I want everything as soon as possible!

At one point Vic mentioned that there might be a specific "subscriber pickup" line or booth - any word on whether that is happening?

If you've experienced some of the FFG lines, Paizo is nothin'.

btw, switched over to pick-up and everything looked good. Price calced with sales tax rather than shipping for base plus add-on.

I don't know if we've made a final decision on subscriber pick up specific line or not, however, I know there are plans for less chaotic and more orderly line/booth management.

Yeah the line is really the issue. It feels crazy to stand in the megaline, especially since you've already paid and they just need to cross you off a list.

The orders are charged and settled when we begin shipping (currently estimated August 4th). At this time you will also receive any relevant PDFs. If your payment does not go through and its not resolved by the time you pick up your subscriptions, you will be able to pay at the register.

I think the subscription page means if you say you will pick then up at GenCon but fall to do so, they will get shipped to you after GenCon. But I could be wrong.

Gen Con begins August 14. We will begin shipping subscriptions around August 4. We have a lot of shipments this month, so we estimate competing subscription shipments around August 22.

Therefore, some subscribers who are are not picking up at Gen Con will get their product a bit before Gen Con, and some after.

If you opt in to Gen Con pick up, we will settle charges and grant PDFs (estimated about) August 4th. If you miss out on picking up your items at Gen Con, we will refund sales tax and then charge shipping and ship them to you, this can take us up to 2-3 weeks after Gen Con to complete.

If you have things shipped normally, we will begin shipping orders estimated on August 4th and continue shipping until done, currently estimated August 22nd.

It would be cool if there was a box that said don't ship it to me until after GenCon, avoid having it potentially sitting on my doorstep for days while I'm at GenCon. :)

If you contact Customer services (details at the bottom of the screen), you can ask for your subscriptions to be suspended. Then once your back from Gencon, you can ask them to un suspend them. It will bring back all the items that were generated in the period of your suspension. It would probably move you to the end of the queue though - likely not going out until after the 22nd

With 8 hours of PACG on my GC schedule, I probably won't be playing S&S in my downtime, so I'm going to let my sub ship and hope for the best. (Watch this space for my tearful lamentations!)

We're waiting on a shipment to come in and we are going to have to delay the auth/order spawning until August 4th.

I know that some of you are waiting on the availability of the Skull & Shackles Add-On Deck as a starting item for the Adventure Card Game subscription. This is tied to the auth/spawning and so will not be up until the 5th.
