Seelah Hospitaler Question

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Seelah's upgrade classes both have the ability to recharge Blessings of Iomedae (exact wording is "you may recharge it instead").

Her Hospitaler upgrade however gives her "lay on hands" effectively, a Cure that causes her to bury a divine card as a cost.

Is there an interaction here, where you can recharge a Blessing of Iomedae to Cure an ally? I'm not going to say this is broken, but I think it would be nice that focusing more on her patron deity would provide her with more potential for healing others.

Interesting. I hadn't really noticed that it just says what you quoted instead of "you may recharge it instead of discarding" which is how I always read it in my mind.

But, I don't think it really matters. To fully quote that power, it says "When you play Blessing of Iomedae, you may recharge it (...) instead". In the case of her lay on hands power, she's not playing the blessing, she's using a power that causes her to bury a divine card as the cost. The Blessing is only "played" if you use the card for the powers on the card.

So, short answer - Nope.

Yeah, any card you use for a character's power goes specifically where that power says to put it (with Lini's animal power at the Farmhouse being the exception). So, that power says to Bury it so that's where it goes. The 2nd power never gets to interrupt that first. It would be the same with Kyra's heal power and Saranrae too.
