Is it possible to retrain a trait such as magical knack?

Bump. I am looking for information on the PP cost of retraining a trait as well. I cannot seem to find it anywhere

Assuming you mean Prestige Points for PFS, there isn't any rules to retrain traits.

Ultimate Campaign didn't introduce any rules for retraining traits, so PFS didn't make up rules for it.

This is a real Trap for New player how created the Charakter in a hurry just to find out later that they can never gain the on and only Trait they realy wantet because they chose another one from the same Type.

Hence the level one retraining rules that pfs already has in place.

If this is not happen during a convention with a gaming marathon you are right.

Scarab Sages

Although traits offer mechanical benefits (some of them pretty big ones, too) they're intended to add flavour and ties to the setting for your character and give some reward for it. It doesn't make sense to retrain away your character's background.

You could perhaps "cheat":

  • Retrain a feat into the Additional Traits feat, picking the traits you really wanted.
  • Retrain Additional Traits away again, dropping the traits you didn't want.

@minoritarian : True, but it woud be nice if there was a option to gain the same Benefits from a Feat. Example: Magical Knack

@VRMH : Additional Traits feat can only pick Trait from different Trait Types
