Alignment: Lawful Evil..."

You can't be evil in PFS, so you can't be a Red Mantis Assassin.

For the prestige class, the answer is as above. But with the right set of additional materials, nothing prevents you from being an Achaekek-worshipping two-weapon fighting beastmaster ranger with two sawtooth sabers and a giant mantis companion. Y'know, if such a thing would interest you.

You can even take ranks in Profession (Assassin)...

Hmm, would using it for a day job check incur an alignment infraction?

I've seen some very morally gray day jobs. Hmm. Would be interesting.

Not every Pathfinder works for the Society full time. Some are trained artisans, professionals, or performers and earn extra gold on the side, between missions. During these times, you can attempt a trained Craft, Perform, or Profession check to see how much extra money you earn—this is called a Day Job check. In the Pathfinder Society campaign, you may make one Day Job check after the end of each adventure. Certain Vanities (Pathfinder Society Field Guide 60) allow you to further modify your Day Job rolls, or even let you use skill ranks from other, more specialized skills like Heal or Sleight of Hand as Day Job rolls.

There was a pretty long (and contentious, imagine that) thread about a year ago on that topic. I don't want to open the door to that whole topic here, but ... expect table variation.

Trigger Language under cut:

Back on the first day that Pathfinder Society started using the Pathfinder RPG system, I was helping a new player at Gen Con build his character, and he wanted "Perform (rape)" as a Day Job. I'm pretty sure he was serious. That's the event that has left me with the opinion that yes, Day Jobs can require an atonement to avoid sliding towards evil.

Thea plays something like that character.

Oh dear lord some people are beyond the pale. I am sort of hoping he is just some idiotic and immature idiot rather than actually being serious otherwise I might lose all faith in humanity.

Their iconic helmets are listed in the Inner Sea World Guide but, unfortunately, aren't on the additional resources list. However, there IS a scenario that lists them on the chronicle...

Thea plays something like that character.

I'd also not refer to yourself as a Red Mantis Assassin, as when you encounter them they will most likely try to exterminate you for it since you are not a member of the order.

but they were all bad!

You could choose another color. The Violet Mantis! (The Mantis of Love.)

Then you'd have to go around encasing people in violet sap crystals.

I went paladin, with a level of summoner for the small eidolon with the extra limbs, reach, & grab evolutions. :)

Paladin is an...interesting choice.

Morphling, will it still get people up in arms if you never use it on a day job, instead just using it for the "roleplaying value?"

Fixed that for you.

:P

Stealth check to hide from Thea: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

The Mantis Prey is an interesting Scenario which does focus on the Red Mantis

Sadly though in 10-11 it falls apart in terms of difficulty, but the gm only information is quite good.
