My shard in Ultima Online had something similar. Stratics used to have shard reporters who would attend and write about community events, interview community figures, etc. Their articles were then posted on the Stratics UO website for public viewing.

PDFs will initially be posted on the Company's thread (or perhaps a separate one just for the newsletter). With regards to exposure, I expect that any newsletter involving another Company will be put up on that Company's site or thread for the simple reason that it will appeal to the Company's ego. ;D

I also enjoy the PDF approach to start off. Distribution again seems to be the biggest problem with that.

as do I, though I would love to see the devs try to fit KC's articles into the game as child-friendly.

...is Brother arguing with himself? O_o

The clinician will notice symptomatic effects of the subject's dichotomization of online/offline realities. This may result in virtual schizophrenic phenomena, and the rational should ration the ratio of online interactions. In-character behaviors in external environments, as opposed to interior, are to be eschewed in direct proportion to the subject's relative exposure to electromagnetic fields. This can most readily be achieved through the adoption of aluminum foil to shield the cranium.

Goblin Squad Member

Actually I act about the same in real life. To be honest, I am trying to keep the "troll" under lock and key in these forums. :O

Your aluminum foil won't work. I'm a human, it should be copper foil. Duh.

Bump. Had a tough weekend. I'll have to see how the next week goes--finals are coming up real fast.

Goblin Squad Member

midterms here. you have quarters I assume?

Believe so. At least one of my finals ain't until next week--the math one, thank goodness!

I do want one of my characters to be an exploring monk/bard who keeps the tales of those he ends up running into. Perhaps a good fit?

Also, can you not be called the Pathfinder Chronicle or Chroniclers? It seems like your goals may be somewhat in-between that of the Lore Master and Pathfinder Chronicler prestige classes.

Sounds like a perfect fit for the Heralds!

I considered this group being part of the Pathfinders, but ultimately decided that there already being an NPC Pathfinder lodge in the area would just obscure things too much. Instead, the company was founded by ex-Pathfinders who were weary of how biased their organization had become.

I really am sorry about...that. That thing that just happened. That thing that lasted over two months.

I started a PbP, and started a much rougher school term (which is currently kicking my ass, incidentally) and came to realize that there's just no way I'll be able to keep up with running my own Company. I'm just too s#*~ty and unreliable for a job like that. Hell, I'm not even reliable enough to be a member a Company—just ask the druids. XD

The biggest proper organization I'll be comfortable running is the Mooncalves. However, I do still intend to contribute to the fanwork community of this game, and I'll still be playing my Herald. If I have time, I'll even be making the PDFs.

You are all still welcome to submit stuff, but I suggest this be kept an informal group. Heralds can be free to be members of other groups in the meantime. Every now and then (for big events), we could unite in a short-term Party. Just so people don't shoot us by mistake. But this seems the best way to run things.

Goblin Squad Member

Just so long as we don't lose you, KC. You we need around here.

It's very hard to get rid of me. I'm like a cockroach, or one of those naked mole rats that can slow down its metabolism and never get cancer.

Goblin Squad Member

See? That's the imagery we depend on.

Little-known fact: That's actually literally true. PFO's new game engine is powered by comatose mole rats. Don't trust the blog posts! Wake up, sheeple!

Goblin Squad Member

I only just found this thread, but I like the idea a lot. I'm personally more interested in sciences and history than art, but could see some collaboration with your newsletter. I've some interest in history, and Newsletters would make for great sources.

My characters title in the SBC is Herald and I plan on recording events in a fashion, though maybe not as well as you. I would not mind being loosely affiliated with this network as a free agent of sorts.

Hey, that's all any of us are.

I'm thinking my Herald will be a gnome with a penchant for sensationalist stuff—conspiracy theories, in-universe melodrama, and I think she produces a pulp magazine.

Goblin Squad Member

I was planning to get inconceivably rich (I don't think that word means what I think it means) and buy myself a settlement to make it a bard school. The entire settlement would be centered around the highest level bardic feats and accomplishments and bard characters gather there and work off of each other producing fan art and other creations like the Royal Academy of the Arts (RATA) in London but for bards in River Kingdoms.

Your company could move in there if you work up a spunky training montage.

Currently, it's doubtful we'll be forming a formal Company. Instead, folks from all Companies will be free to also consider themselves Heralds, though short-term adventuring parties may be formed from time to time for important projects like the recording of big battles.

Goblin Squad Member

heh, KC I think rory gallagher has a song about you... something bout a bad penny or something...

Goblin Squad Member

I volunteer to protect any Herald traveling through Stone Bear Clan territory. I won't be playing a Bard, but I will be happy to help anyone that is actively doing something this awesome in PFO.

It looks like there'll be some PC Pathfinders (current or retired) out there, too.

I'm sure 'Thod's Friends' will be happy to have you.

@Zodd

I was going to be either fighter or ranger and cross into either bard or diplomat. If that is awesome enough, look for me in game xD I could use few more people in my small network.

Goblin Squad Member

You mentioned it in your initial post, so I felt like this had to be linked.

Bardic Immunity

If that's Journeyquest, it's practically this group's main inspiration. ;P

Goblin Squad Member

Indeed it is!
