A spell storing weapon allows a spellcaster to store a single targeted spell of up to 3rd level in the weapon. (The spell must have a casting time of 1 standard action.) Anytime the weapon strikes a creature and the creature takes damage from it, the weapon can immediately cast the spell on that creature as a free action if the wielder desires. (This special ability is an exception to the general rule that casting a spell from an item takes at least as long as casting that spell normally.) Once the spell has been cast from the weapon, a spellcaster can cast any other targeted spell of up to 3rd level into it. The weapon magically imparts to the wielder the name of the spell currently stored within it. A randomly rolled spell storing weapon has a 50% chance of having a spell stored in it already. This special ability can only be placed on melee weapons.

A spell storing weapon emits a strong aura of the evocation school, plus the aura of the spell currently stored.

School necromancy [evil]; Level cleric 3, sorcerer/wizard 4

Casting Time 1 standard action

Components V, S, M (an onyx gem worth at least 25 gp per Hit Die of the undead)

Range touch

Targets one or more corpses touched

Duration instantaneous

Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no

Could I cast Animate Dead into a spellstoring weapon and activate it when I kill a creature? How would the material component work?

At the time when you store the spell in the weapon you must choose how many material you use. This ruling is used for all spell trigger and spell compleation items. And the target creature must be dead and not dying to be a valid target.

The spell from a spellstoring weapon can be cast on a CREATURE that you attack. A corpse would not be a viable target I'm afraid.

At a glance, I agree with these responses. That said, it's a very amusing idea.

Ok, good point. Missed that.

Guess I'll have to settle for a spell stored Death Knell and Spell Perfection (Animate Dead) for Quicken once my level is sufficiently high.

Think it does, see for example: Breath of Life

Ok a creature can be a corpse, but the Item description says that it can be cast on one that you can hit and cause damage to. A corpse is still not viable, and therefore my point is still valid.

Why would you not be able to hit and cause damage to a corpse?

In Pathfinder, "dead" is only a condition, similar to "dazed" or "nauseated" (maybe a bit more permanent). There is no distinction between a corpse and a creature with the dead condition.
So, when you "kill" a creature, it's still the same creature, only with the dead condition (which would make it a viable target for animate dead).
