Music while running Wrath.

Wrath of the Righteous

Liberty's Edge

I'm about to start book 3 with my group and am wondering what people have been using for music. I personally have been using Glitch Mob, the electronica has been a great change of pace from the classical, film score, and video game music I have used in Council of Thieves, Kingmaker, Runelords, and as a player in Carrion Crown.

I have gone with the typical movie/game score type of music mixed with some power metal and epic rock songs.

Here's a list of some of the artists I have been using and am going to use further down the line if I manage to keep this Campaign alive.

immediate music
X-ray dog
Two steps from hell
Extreme music
Globus
Diablo 2 OST
Diablo 3 OST
Darksiders OST
Darksiders 2 OST
Dante's inferno OST
Secret world OST
Dishonored OST
Demon souls OST
Guild wars OST
Guild wars 2 OST
Hellgate London OST
Various Manowar songs
Europa universalis IV OST
Crusader Kings 2 OST
Various Apocalyptica songs
King Arthur OST
Kingdom of heaven OST
Demon's and angels OST
The Da Vinci code OST
Various Ensiferum songs
Dark souls OST
Position music
Various Dimmu Borgir songs
Various songs from Silent hill
Various Atrium Carceri songs

I've honestly felt that the boss themes from Metal Gear Rising work well. It just meshes with the insanity that mythic creatures facing off can do.

Go to YouTube and type 'Epic Music'.

You'll find countless hours of awesome background gaming music for fantasy role-playing and boss fights. Playing with a team of 5 people, it's been a god send to find a source of music that EVERYONE can agree upon and really get into.

I agree, but I would suggest everyone to create their own playlists, that way the music tends to fit better.

Actually I recently found this gem from Final Fantasy 13-2 (and I finished the game months ago) I can't decide if that is the right song for the Storm King or Iomedae. (Of course the Storm King could work with any kind of metal, like the excellent Metal Gear Revengeance soundtrack.

Caius Theme.

The soundtrack list Mortagon was so kind to post is very good, but I would like to add some of my own favourites.

Metal Gear Solid soundtracks (the MGS 3 soundtrack is exceptional)
Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 soundtracks are very good, if you can find them, they all have piano versions
Carl Orf's opera Carmina Burana (plenty of songs about the end of the world)
various Two Steps from Hell soundtracks
Full Metal Alchemist has some very good songs, particularly for large scale battles:

FMA Brotherhood - Battle Sherzo.

Here's some new ones I've found:

Fate/Zero soundtracks (Sample)
Mobile suit Gundam 00 soundtrack (Sample)
Attack on titan soundtrack (Sample)
Space marine (video game) soundtrack (Sample)
Devil may cry (various game soundtracks) ( Sample from devil may cry 1)
Metal gear may cry
Shadow of the colossus soundtrack (Sample)
Immortals movie soundtrack (Sample)

Liberty's Edge

@Mortagon, you gave me a lot of ideas to mix in. I appreciate it.

@Caius Those boss themes fit exactly where I needed them to.

I also did the Scott Morton Ambient Soundscapes kickstarter for more lowkey stuff.

Silver Crusade

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 & 2 (Oscar Araujo)
Thor: The Dark World ost (Brian Tyler)
Ender's Game ost (Steve Jablonsky)
Warhammer 40k Space Marine ost (Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco)
Elizabeth: The Golden Age ost
Assassin's Creed Unity (Chris Tilton)
Snow White and the Huntsman (James Newton Howard)
Diablo 3 (Scott Brower)
The Order ost (Jason Graves)
Dead Space 1 & 2 (Jason Graves)
Dragon Age Inquisition (Trevor Morris)

And a good deal of others previously mentioned like Dishonored and Darksiders. There's also a good deal of individual pieces from Audiomachine, Two Steps From Hell and certain bits from the Starcraft 2 soundtracks (the more orchestral pieces, of course).

I tend to make playlists for moods in each game for things like suspense, combat, boss fights (with both a 'ohgodohgodohgod' intense playlist and a 'we're winning!' uplifting playlist), sad, downtime, etc. If there's an interest, I might start uploading them on youtube or perhaps 8tracks. Currently have some stuff for Kingmaker, Wrath fo the righteous, Council of Thieves and some of Iron Gods (we linked the last three modules to our Kingmaker game, long story ^.^).
