Yohoho and a bottle of Rep! (subSPUF Skull and Shackles)

Game Master Rynjin

Arrrrrrr, walk the plank, scallywag and all that. This be pirates and so do ye be.

Impositions:

Disgraceful Impositions:

Yes, Sir!: For the next hour, the PCs’ crew completes any mundane tasks they’re assigned in half the expected time. This typically relates to Craft and Profession (sailor) checks made to prepare, maintain, or repair the ship, and cannot be applied to combat or more complex deeds like crafting magic items. Costs 2 Disrepute.

Captain’s Orders!: As a standard action, a PC on board her ship can cast fog cloud, heroism, make whole, quench, or whispering wind with a caster level equal to her character level. Costs 5 Disrepute.

Walk the Plank!: The PCs may sacrifice one crew member or prisoner to grant themselves and their crew one of two bonuses: either a +2 bonus on all skill checks or a +2 bonus on attack rolls. These bonuses only apply while on board the PCs’ ship and last until either the next day or when the captain leaves the ship. If a sacrificed character is returned to life, the PCs and their crew members take a –2 penalty on both skill checks and attack rolls for 1 day. Costs 5 Disrepute.

Get Up, You Dogs!: Every PC and allied character on the deck of the PCs’ ship is affected as per the spell cure light wounds, as if cast by a cleric of the PCs’ average party level. This imposition can only be used once per week. Costs 10 Disrepute.

Despicable Impositions:

5: Lashings!: Your ship's speed doubles for 1 day.

5: Shiver Me Timbers!: While on board their ship, the PCs and their entire crew can reroll initiative or roll initiative in what would otherwise be a surprise round. The benefit of this imposition can be used immediately, but only once per week.

10: Besmara’s Blessings!: As a standard action, a PC on board her ship can cast animate rope, control water, remove curse, remove disease, or water breathing with a caster level equal to her character level.

10: Dead Men Tell No Tales!: While on board their ship, the PCs can use this imposition to automatically confirm a threatened critical hit.

Nope.

Silent as the grave, Slickjaw gets within 10 feet of the woman, and hurls a flask of alchemist's fire at her, before slinking back into concealment.

To-Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

This breaks my blend, which puts my stealth for this round at a solid 39.

The Lieutenant screeches in pain.

"WHO THREW THAT?" she roars, looking around, but to no avail.

The other sailors cover their heads as they're scorched by the passing flames.

Initiative Order:

Lieutenant Riza
Slickjaw
Sailor 1
Ace
Cyrdic
Lucy
Sailor 2

"Come on!" one of them yells, and he hares off through the mist as fast as he can safely go.

You hear a slight bumping as he reaches the boat about 10 feet behind you.

Ace steps up and sends out a flashing light, hoping to put down the officer and remaining sailor.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The Lieutenant closes her eyes just in time, and shrugs off the ill effects of the spell, but the other sailor is not so lucky.

He drops to the floor with a loud thud, though nobody can see him clearly.

2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
1d4 ⇒ 2

That sailor's out of commission for 10 rounds. The first 7 of which he may be Coup de Graced, or tied up, or whatever.

Cyrdic, you're up.

An invisible man chucking fire around...only one guy I know who fits THAT description, Cyrdic thinks to himself as he goes back to the boat. "Keep it up, Slickjaw! Lucy, take the b@#&@ out! Alive if possible, but do what you gotta do!" Then with a guttural roar, he swings at the sailor by the boat, but misses due to the heavy fog. F$^@!

Lucy hears Cyrdic and goes off charging into the mist, before stumbling over a patch that's not as covered in it any more, where an unconscious man and the officer stand.

Lucy, hearing the scream and sounds of battle, rushes back to the boat.

Nimbly making her way through the dense fog, Lucy arrives on the scene, and swings her Falchion once more, another sailor's life being claimed by the hungry blade.

And with that, everything goes quiet. The two unconscious ones can be tied up or killed at your leisure. I'm assuming you strip/search the bodies.

The group deals with the unconscious foes and rummages through the bodies for any worthwhile loot.

The normal sailors carry the same stuff as the previous ones, leather armor, short swords, a heavy crossbow, and 20 bolts (5 bodies worth of each).

The Lietenant carries some more interesting fare.

-Her Boarding Pike, which is obviously magical.
-Two Masterwork Short Swords
-Heavy crossbow
-20 Bolts
-A Chain Shirt

I'll leave that there for the moment in case y'all wanna socialize, identify magic gear (including the stuff Slickjaw couldn't), etc. That's the last combat for y'all, but there's still about 4 rounds left in the battle.

Ace tries to identify the magical trinkets.

spellcraft, pike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

The pendant is an Amulet of Natural Armor +1

The Pike is a Boarding Pike of Repelling, a +1 Boarding Pike with the ability to extend itself to 20 ft. as a Swift action on Command (no limit on times per day). When extended, it does not threaten until 15 ft. out (so if teh target is within 10 feet of you, you're screwed).

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

With a grunt, Slickjaw dons the amulet and says, "I can't use this sword - anyone want it, or should I sell it next chance we get?"

Crud, I wanted that amulet...oh well.

"I don't really need that sword, and I sure as hell don't need the pike. Give me just a second though, gonna take care of some loose ends. By the way-nice job, everyone."

Cyrdic goes over to the lieutenant and the other fallen sailor and makes sure they're tied up securely. Then, he goes over to the other two conscious prisoners to make sure they're both alright.

On second thought, Ace grabs a shortsword.

whats the dmg roll?

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

1d6, since it's a medium weapon, and that'll be +1 damage and +1 attack, if you take the magic one.

Seeing the disappointment on Cyrdic's face, Slickjaw says "Sorry buddy - I'm kinda a lightweight compared to you, and I'm the one who *ahem* legitimately acquired it. Just buy some plate mail or somethin' next time we're in town."

Upon seeing Ace pick up the normal shortsword, Slickjaw says "I've got a magic one of those with me - you can have it, it's too big for me. Though if you find something better and sell it, I can always use some cash."

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

On average, Ace, you'll be doing better with the Shortsword until you can Dervish (and at the same time, you get a +1 weapon from Bladebound), so it might be good to keep it. Even +1 static damage is a wonderful thing, and the +1 to attack rolls ain't bad either. If nobody wants the pike, it could sell for a decent amount if you gave it to Grok.

Tell me when, and I'll move forward. =)

Only when it's really cold out. ZING!

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Heh. But no.

Full text since I'm on the right partition today:

This +1 boarding pike (Pathfinder Player Companion: Pirates of the Inner Sea 18) is an 8-foot-long pole topped with a tapered metal spearpoint and a backward-facing hook, used to draw vessels closer together or repel boarders. A metal skull caps the butt of the pike. On command, a boarding pike of repelling can be extended as a swift action, giving its wielder a reach of 20 feet for 1 round. While the pike is extended, the wielder does not threaten adjacent creatures or creatures up to 15 feet away. A boarding pike of repelling can also be extended in this way to draw vessels closer together for boarding.

alirght, but who gets the chain shirt?

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

You've about got the loot sorted out and it won't come up for a bit anyway. So, here we go:

After about half a minute of tense waiting, the fog clears.

The sounds of battle have ceased, and looking out over the ship, most of the sailors are either dead or surrendered.

They call for everyone to line up on deck, and most of the crew cheers as the line of prisoners is paraded in front of the Wormwood crew.

A party begins on the deck of the Wormwood, still lashed together with the Man's Promise, high quality booze and food brought from the hold of the captured ship.

Captain Harrigan holds a short meeting with his officers and decides how to divvy up the loot. Everyone receives 150 gold as their share.

In addition, because of all the pirates you killed or captured, your group receives an extra 175 gp to divide amongst yourselves, and get another 200 to divide up for capturing the officer.

My suggestion on when you divvy up loot? Divvy it up by players+1, with that +1 being the group share. Since there are 3 of you now, you'd divide it evenly by 4, and put the other quarter as a group fund, for emergency healing, resurrections, things of that nature that benefit the group as a whole.

Slickjaw, the stuff you stole was supposed to be bonuses for you guys for completing the stuff you did anyway (Warning the Captain, quickly dispatching the sailors in the Sterncastle, etc.), so I decided not to have the pirates investigate the theft this time, even though it was obvious the hold had been ransacked. THIS TIME. *Pointed look*

The party is long, and the revelry lasts well into tomorrow night, a full 36 hours. Naturally, work is suspended for the duration, as the officers feel the crew has earned a break...and the fact that the crew would probably mutiny if they were put right back to work doesn't hurt either.

During this time you may do as you please. You can take up to FIVE (5) Ship Actions during this time, or just party all day and night, sleep, whatever.

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

3*150 + 175 + 200 = 1025, so that divided by four is 256 GP with 1 GP left over, which can go into the group fund.

Male hobgoblin Magus 11 |7/92 HP | AC 25, touch 17, flatfoot 17 (29,21,23 with magic shield, 5 DR with damage shield) | fort +12, reflex+11,will +9| init +6 | bab +8| 11/11 arcane pool |

Ace parties until the cows come home, than parties with the cows.

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

Slickjaw gets some R&R.

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

Also, after being ignored by Ace, Slickjaw goes to sell his magic shortsword, and ask if Grok can make change.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Grok eyes the sword, and the goblin.

"Sure, little man. I can take this 'un off your hands. Runnin' price for a weapon like this is about 1150 gold. Sound fair to you?"

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

"I guess that's fair enough. You got that in platinum?"

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

"Do I look like a bank to you?"

"You can take it in pretty, shiny, gold, or I'll give it to you all in Copper and hope you can carry it. What's it gonna be?"

Male Goblin Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 4 [dexed] | PERMANENTLY DECEASED

"Gold it is. Also, just outta curiosity - you maybe got like a bag o' holding or handy haversack or somethin' for sale?"

Everyone - don't forget to add 256 to your GP for the payment. If ya'll have a large investment ya'll need to make, tell me and I'll give you some of my cash - Slickjaw will probably accumulate lodsamoney (already has) and lodsaexpenses (because he's an alchemist). Also, there's currently 257 GP in our group fund - who wants to carry that?

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Grok greets Ace with a frown.

"Yer friend was just in here trying to make my job harder. You're not gonna be any trouble, are you?"

What exactly are you looking for? There's not a whole lot in the ship's store, just a bunch of mundane weaponry (cutlasses especially, which I would let you sue with Dervish Dance if you wished, they're literally identical to Scimitars in all but name and appearance), armor, and so on.

Male hobgoblin Magus 11 |7/92 HP | AC 25, touch 17, flatfoot 17 (29,21,23 with magic shield, 5 DR with damage shield) | fort +12, reflex+11,will +9| init +6 | bab +8| 11/11 arcane pool |

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

"Hmph. Not that I know of. I've got plenty of weapons and armor, food and other supplies. And rum!" she says with a chuckle.

"But other'n that? Nah. I don't truck with much magical supplies."

"I do have some trinkets, though."

Grok lists off a number of itemsto Ace.

"I got some magic scrolls we took off a ship's Wizard a few months back, a wand, and some of 'is potions too." she says.

She has a scroll each of Cure Moderate Wounds, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Scorching Ray, and Summon Swarm, along with a Wand of Bless Weapon (with 16 charges), and a potion of Cure Light Wounds, one of Barkskin, and one of Haste.

"I also got this thingy here."

She displays a magical dagger to Ace, and explains that it is a +1 dagger...but you get the sense it may actually be more.

"And of course, as I've already said, we've got a large number of weapons and armor of most shapes and sizes, many of them masterworks, and some supplies, including a few alchemical bits and bobs like Tanglefoot bags, Holy Water, and acid we snagged from some Pharasmite voyaging to cleanse some unhallowed temple to an undead god or some such, not quite sure on the details there...but all can be yours for a fair price, of course."

"How much for the scroll of cure wounds and that potion of cure wounds?"

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

"150 gp for the scroll, 50 gp for the potion."

Keep in mind that to cast from the scroll you'd need to make a UMD check since it's not on your list.

And yes, Slickjaw, a +1 Dagger. Or it's at least a +1 dagger...but could be something more. Ace can try to identify it if he wishes. Should he choose not to inform Grok of his findings he could have a bargain on his hands.

Male hobgoblin Magus 11 |7/92 HP | AC 25, touch 17, flatfoot 17 (29,21,23 with magic shield, 5 DR with damage shield) | fort +12, reflex+11,will +9| init +6 | bab +8| 11/11 arcane pool |

spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Ace recognizes that it is, in fact, a +1 Animal Bane dagger, something Grok is blissfully unaware of.
