This season finale wasn't as good as last season's...but how can it be, Ahsoka vs Vader is pretty flipping cool.

Re:Thrawn His pride is going to be his downfall. His pride, and the fact that in the Imperial Navy there seems to be a whole bunch of backstabbing going on.

My take, Pryce and the others are secretly working at odds to Thrawn to score points with Tarkin, who might legitimately see Thrawn as a threat to his status. Especially if Thrawn can "defeat" the rebels and capture their leadership. We saw in Catalyst and Rogue One that Tarkin jealously guards his status as "Emperor's Favorite".

I enjoyed the season finale but last week's episode still had me a bit...yeah.

Loved the throwaway line with respect to kanan's jedi status/overall power level. May explain much for all but the most acerbic fans.

"I've still got so much to learn..."

"So, uh, Ezra, yeah... I'm barely even a Jedi (and *technically* only by a ghost [of a former nemesis] saying so...), so bud, you've tapped out on this teacher well."

"No, Kanan. I was talking about you being a good example and role model."

"Oh, in that case... PADAWAN!"

I was fully expecting Kallus and/or Kanan to die (especially after Kanan's "I have nothing more to teach you" bit.)

Overall, I enjoyed it. The Rebels got their butts handed to them, but managed to squeak out an escape without taking a total loss to their forces (and they wouldn't have had that if Thrawn's subordinates had followed orders.)

Rebels Season 4

I loved the trailer. I think Lucasfilm is gonna try and tie the final season in with The Last Jedi somehow, that line about "We are the Balance" kinda sounds similar to one of the lines that Rey has in TLJ trailer.

I'm pumped. Also, the Thrawn book is awesome. I'm about 2/3 finished with it. (Can't read as much as I'd like with two kids roaming about the house)

It is indeed the last season :(

But it also seems right that it ends.

Warwick Davis confirmed to be playing Rukh.

EXCITED FREEHOLD IS EXCITED

A bit underwhelmed with so little preview footage, with most of it being from the finale. But beyond that I'm hyped. I really wasn't expecting a trailer to come out of swco so it was a great surprise when I popped it up on the TV. (An aside damn both this and the last Jedi trailers look good in 4k)

Kanans bit about being Jedi for the sake of lothal seems a bit off. Particularly after the balance part. Did Bendu mess kanans remaining idyllic view of the Order up that bad or is his The Last Guardian dog monster going to have him forsake the rest of his Jedi status to go on a balanced path, especially since he cannot forsake his love for Hera which is a key component of Jediism. Love being an emotion and whatnot.

Also Yavin base! And more mandalorians!

Not to dig up sore spots, Freehold, but a bit more expository info for that Kenobi vs. Maul fight.

Rebels Season 4 clip Bo-Katan returns

For those of you who need a Rebels Recap, Season 1 - 3 in five minutes.

Rebels has really, really grown on me from Season 1 to now.

I'm so damn attached to Kanan, I don't know that I want to find out what happens to him.

Wow. Don't have cable. Just have to wait for the DVD.

Variety reports that Bob Iger confirmed a Live Action Star Wars series to premiere on MouseNet (or whatever they end up calling their streaming cash cow) sometime after it goes live in 2 years.

Does anybody else watch Star Wars: Rebels and want to give Hera the "Prepare to lose him talk"?

Scarab Sages

Poor Hera and Kanan. They've got a serious case of blue alien parts, that only humorous TVY7 situations can properly convey. It is going to be so heartbreaking when the inevitable loss (to either death or further becoming a force oracle) occurs.

Scarab Sages

So I've been ruminating on where the cast is headed. Just my speculation at this point:

Zeb and Hera make it out alive, and continue their modus operandi.

Kanan dies in the finale or earlier to be the big hero.

Ezra, being less and less Jedi as seasons 3 and 4 have unfolded, takes Kanans loss as a sign and retires the light saber, content on being a force adept guerilla for the rest of his days.

Sabine and Ezra leave an utterly devastated Lothal, shuttling refugees to the Mandalore system. They make space babies.

Chopper continue his career as the most violent robot, upgrading his frame to secretly become 4-LOM.

We see Chopper in a post-RoTJ animated short involving Han, Leia and Hera.

Link, please.

Never mind. I saw it. *shrug* Meh.

Yeah, it wasn't very good. I happened to stumble upon it the other night. I've only seen a few of the "Forces of Destiny" shorts and I don't think I've been overly impressed with any of them. I was mostly pointing it out to say that Chopper and Hera surviving until after RotJ is apparently canon.

Don't get me wrong. Forces of Destiny is okay, for a kid's show. It will never be as good for adults like Clone Wars/Rebels.

The end begins February 24.

The episode premiering on February 24 is the 10th episode of the season and is entitled "Jedi Night."

On March 3, episode 11 is called "DUME."

When they canceled Clone Wars I was not happy. I have to say, this series really was better than I thought it would be. I'll be sad to see it go but excited to watch the end unfold.

It... wasn't cancelled?

It came to its logical and planned conclusion, as it had filled the gap between Ep2 and Ep3 as it was intended to do.

There were still Episodes that were going to be made that were canceled so I'd say that's a series cancellation :-)

Episodes that were culled from production runs on the authority of the Executive Producers aren't the same as "cancelled." Episodes get cut from production runs all the time.

The story had always been planned to end just prior to the Battle Of Coruscant. It did that.

Incomplete episodes from canceled 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' animation released online.

Disney Cancels Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, Postpones Star Wars: Detours.

A New Direction for Lucasfilm Animation

While they may have completed the run to bring it to a certain point,

After five highly successful and critically acclaimed seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we feel the time has come to wind down the series.

Had Disney NOT purchased Lucasfilms, there would have been several more episodes, perhaps another season or two, released. I'd call that cancelled.

I think we can agree to disagree on this.

Scarab Sages

Episodes 10 and 11 are out now. Zeb and Sabine kicking Rukh's ass and tagging him before sending him home was a fun topper on a couple of sad themed episodes.

Also, series finale on March 5th will be 3 episodes in one night.

Scarab Sages

Also on series timeline...

Spoiler:
The whole Tarkin bit about having to plead his case to the emperor over Krennic's project makes it seem a bit further away chronologically from Rogue One than expected. Saw in Epi 4 was in a lot healthier shape than his life supported self in the film, and now we have a firm event occurring pretty explicitly before the events of Rogue One. How far before, my guess is maybe a year, but how much of that remaining time will play out over the last 5 episodes? We can only wait and see.

Scarab Sages

Can't see I didn't see the events of the last couple of episodes coming, but sad nonetheless.

Scarab Sages

Ok, I know we've got the board update going on, but holy nerfherders, those last two eps!

I love it when the force gets weird and breaks people’s assumptions about how it works. When it truly breaks away from something you couldn’t comfortably list under an RPG powers list. When it gets really mystical is when the force is most exciting for me.

Next episode is Series Finale.

DAMN INTERESTING ENDING

I saw the hand of the mouse behind some things in the ending, though...but good work overall.

I am glad I met the creator...

Scarab Sages

Finally watched the finale. Ezra's exit from the Game of (Space) Thrones was appropriately epic, and should put a lot of the "Yoda said..." whiners to rest.

As for Ahsoka, her regalia was very priestess like, and this whole "Church of the Force" whatever introduced in Lor San Tekka's (old guy w/ map piece who bites it at opening of TFA) back story sounds like a perfect place for a former padawan who has seen the greater force up close to bide her time til Vader's gone.

Scarab Sages

I'm quite pleased with the ending as well. Not sure when/how we will get the continuing story of Ezra, Sabin and Thrawn, but I'm eager to find out.
