My question is concerning the interactions between metamagic feats and a spell like Aqueous Orb, which both allows for multiple saves, and these saves could be applied across multiple rounds. How does, let's say, Persistent Spell, effect it? Does it only effect the first save, or the first save that the opponent fails (as this is a two part spell), or does it effect every single save, concerning that spell of course, that the opponent makes while the spell is in effect?
I would argue it only affects the first save of the spell, not every save of the spell. The wording of persistent metamagic talks about a saving throw to avoid the spell effect. If you fail the first save on the orb, you are now affected by the spell. Subsequent saves are part of the spell effect and thus persistent doesn't modify them.
But that's just my opinion.

Me and my buddy were taking a look at it, and could not for the life of us come up with an answer. It's not that we... disagreed with each other. We just can't... figure out how it's supposed to come together. Though we wanted to use the spell for PFS, so we decided, 'why not ask the forums?'

Go in the rules search engine and type: Persistent spells that have two saves?
you will get a lot of answers.....
Basically, as always you have different opinions, but must most people seemed to agree that you would get 2 rolls on all saves...
