One of the players in my current Pathfinder book is working with me on a custom race using the Race Builder rules in the Advanced Race Guide. We were wanting to create a 1 page layout of the race just like in the core rulebook (for our own personal gratification). I have not able to find just the right fonts and spacing. Is there a way we can get a list of the fonts/layout parameters for the race entries in the core rulebook? Now that I am thinking about it, is there an image (public) of the page backgrounds in core rulebook?

There is not any publicly available images for layout, as our trade dress is considered product identity. There is a large amount of images available for free under the Community Use Policy, and the font used in our Pathfinder RPG product titles is Saber ( example here).

Corbel is the closest thing I've found to what is used for what is inside the official books. I haven't got a clue about "layout parameters", "spacing", or backgrounds. I just use the font because I think it looks cool, and its easy to read. And it reminds me of my favorite fantasy game.

Thanks to you both! I know there is a good deal of legal issues regarding replicating official looking Paizo products- just creating some home brew stuff for fun!

The standard text font used in most Paizo books is FF Nexus Serif, while statblocks and read-aloud texts used be FF Nexus Sans, but are now using FF Dax. Headlines often use Jubilee, and title fonts used are the Treacherous Curves and Treacherous Corners fonts.

That's pretty crazy. Whenever I write up statblocks, I tend to use Leedlawadee because it's close to the font that Pathfinder uses. But, might use these instead for homebrew stuffs.

Well since these original fonts aren't free, I've found a selection of fonts that I use for my own documents that are similar enough for my taste. For standard text I use Gandhi Serif and for statblock Gandhi Sans. For headlines I use a font called Oleandra which was in a font package called "1000 OpenType Fonts" I bought in a Mac software bundle some time back. Unfortunately I can't find a sample on the web.

Those are pretty good. I've always preferred serif fonts for body texts, which is why I use Constantia for body text whenever I write anything. Looks nice to me.

Holy crap fonts are expensive. Man, Im just glad my players arent picky.

Yeah, I say the price tag for $69 and that's just a tad out of my price range.

I'll stick with what's in Open Office.

No joke. Sorry for the thread resurrection. I was just looking to figure out what a similar font would be so I can make player banners in my PbF game. Then I found this.

I kinda wish you guys would make a large print version of stuff. Not that I'm getting old or anything.........

I use the PDFs and just enlarge them.

If I had a laptop or tablet I'd use more .pdfs. But I don't, so hardcover books and d20pfsrd.com are it for me.

You can enlarge most web pages, and there are even "web page magnifiers" you could use.

The rulebooks may not be an option, but I'd love to see some large-print character and inventory sheets for visually-impaired users.

For People Who Use Google Drive:
Google Drive has a very small selection of fonts and is unable to have fonts downloaded to it. Because of this when I try to make formal looking documents for pathfinder it doesn't fit in but I have found one that appears to be very similar to the pathfinder font. It is resembles more Lord of the Rings more but gives the same feel.
Have good luck with'Eagle Lake'!

For Google documents I use the link provided above by Liz to type up a sample line of text in the Saber font and then save it as an image for use as a header in my documents. It works wonderfully. Sample image here.
