A hundred plus votes this morning before doing some chores. I’m getting into a routine. This could be bad. I know it was last year.

That or you were wearing a Torc of Reckless Abandon... that gives a +5 circumstance bonus to others to escape the consequences of your... actions.Had to take a break from voting just now because a car drove through a glass wall in the lobby of the building where I work. (No one was injured.)
That has to be some sort of omen.
My understanding, sir, was that I would get a double bonus with that particular Torc. If this is not the case, I demand a full refund, plus restitution for your misleading advertising.

Still looking post-cull... and even checking with three others there's not a 100% confirmed find. Is it too early to start pushing for them to add a "Sub-cull Effort 2014" title to help assuage the pain?

Dear boring item,
I may have been in error. I have seen another item that, if paired against you, may force me to use that middle button.
Two death-related items against each other. Both have their own dark charm.
That slots does not feel very related to speed increase.
I like that speed enhancing item but it could be polished a bit.
*sigh* another great fluff with so-so mechanical benefits.

So this is my first time submitting an item.... When we're done with voting and the top 32 are posted, how do we get feedback on our items if we don't make the cut? Do we each make a thread for our submission or does it all get mashed into one big super-thread?

I was voting and had a realization...
It has been quite a while since I have seen a new item, and I have quite a few of the items memorized and analyzed.
This means I am usually finished voting in about 10 seconds, but it usually takes me 5-10 minutes to vote due to the fact that I get caught up reading other things.
I will never make champion this way.

Hmm. New torc. Made a rookie mistake at the start (IMO) but grew on me as it went. Also helped that it was up against one of my least favorite items (no matter how often you show it to me, system).
After reading back a little it seems that a cull has already happened for the 2014 contest, but.... it sure doesn't feel that way. Are we sure!? i keep seeing many of the same items that have not gotten my vote.

8. Giant plastic gerbil toy
9. I've got gnomish balls; they make good parties
10. Breath of life in a can.
I don't really care much for scabbards. I upvote them sometimes, but they often feel like a work-around for someone who really just wanted a magic sword.

I know of confirmed DQ'd items with missing spaces, so if you report it they will DQ it.

Is there a way to see a list of items culled already?
I promise you there has been a cull, otherwise I'd see some of the many many many items that were just awfully formmatted. Nearly every one I've seen since the cull is properly formatted (if not properly constructed like faint CL 18th and major illusion CL 5th).
I've seen these over and over, voted down, and they still made it past cull.
Some of those and other are ridiculously powerful items. This is why we see items like last year being voted into 1st to 8th place getting passed over for top 32.
You can make a 10,000 gp item that turns you into a mite when you die and allow you to use a wand on yourself to heal and it be treated like a breath of life when you get any healing. It will get a lot of votes if properly formatted (not form me) but won't make top 32 ;-)
There is a cloak that does something ridiculous and possibly harmful, but it is growing on me. I'd like to see where this writer goes.

That's when you turn the magical items into a plot hook. All that excess residual magic has to go somewhere, right? Next thing you know you've got giant/dire versions of animals that have been feeding on the plants. They go rampaging around, causing chaos. As if that weren't enough, the druids get all sorts of testy because of the rampant imbalance of the ecosystem, so they start going to war on those responsible for the catastrophe, even their own people.
Luckily, there's a bunch of adventurers outfitted with a bunch of new magic items, just champing at the bit to help fix things...

I'm curious. In the eyes of the community, is an item that specifically caters to one class generally worse than one that doesn't? Not counting extreme cases where the second item is clearly just plain awful or something.
