The GM Star Replay Credits renew each year on the first day of
Pathfinder Society events at Gen Con.
Are you sure you have the most recent copy? That was the wording in the pre-season guide, but I believe it was changed.

Its 5.0. There's no 5.1... grumble They really need to change the number when they update things like that...
And now we know why the question was comming up, and why its more complicated than sarcastically referring people to the guide.

If this is legit, [citation needed].
Thanks in advance.

The number wasn't updated because the once per year was part of the 5.0 draft that was released early and was never actually official rules.
But seeing the confusion it has caused would be a good reason for them to not release a draft version for the public review in the future.

I hope that was a little tongue-in-cheek. Paizo's public reviews are (to me) some of the best things about the company. Just look at the recent Advanced Class Guide playtest. Yes, there were a ton of people posting about how they needed MOAR POWR! in their favorite class but there were quite a few good posts that gave the designers suggestions on ways to move some of the classes and abilities. Public review of the Guide is a great way to catch confusing things before they are released into a live environment.
Now, a revision 4.99 and a big watermark on each page that says:
Review Copy - Not PFS legal
is a pretty good idea too.

Calling it 4.99 would solve the problem with fewer(no?) downsides.

Not quite. Both versions of the new guide came out before Gencon, which is why they didn't feel the need to change the version number. The rules in that first release were never active. Replays resetting was in the guide for a few days, but it was never a campaign rule because it was changed before that guide went into effect.

See what they need to do is increase it by this simple formula, you get a number of replays equal to your star over your lifetime plus your GM stars - 3 per year plus 1/2 years if this number is 0 plus 1 every 3 years if this number is less than 0. Easy simple to apply.

I read this thru three times... and still do not understand it. Sorry...
what's a "star over your lifetime?"

I think that was the point. Er ... I hope that was the point, anyway.

Is that your GM Star modifier or GM Star bonus, because I'm thinking of making my GM Stars a dump stat so that I can start with a 20 in my casting stat. I'd hate to think I might be required to not play 2 scenarios per season as a result.
