Help with creating the Ivalice Races (using the ARG)

Conversions

For those of you that have played Final Fantasy 12, tactics/advanced/A2, or vagrant story, I'm trying to construct the various races that live there, and am looking for suggestions on how to represent them accurately.

I've got a basic idea thrown together, but I'm unsure if they really fit.

Some guidelines if you wanna suggest something: I'm trying to keep things in the 8-12 point range for them, so please try to keep that in mind.

EDIT: I'm also unsure whether this should be in the suggestions, advice, or conversion forums!

Might get further if you open up the document for review by others.

Loved Tactics Advanced, love the idea. Unfortunately, don't have permission to view. :(

Dotting for possibility to help later, as well as overall coolness.

Conversions.

I don't know if you saw fan-made Final Fantasy RPG that can be found on internet (at least 3rd edition).

The google doc file you are sharing needs to have its privacy settings changed because we can't view it at the moment.

ACH! i knew i forgot something. i need to set it to public.

should be viewable now.

The basics look pretty good. I do suggest changing the Viera "senses" to Low-Light, and I don't quiet see Moogles with the swarming trait.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the ARG so I can't say what might fit better, but I am liking what you have so far.

i'm dumb and forgot that, link should be fixed now.

fixed the link, seems i initially forgot to make it publicly viewable.

swarming was mostly for the odd moogle knight pair/squad/etc. you find, but yeah, it's definitely expendable. the main reason fro darkvision is that i had an odd point left over and was unsure what to spend it on.

i'll bump this for the morning.

bumping for the morning.

giving this a bump.

I don't recognize some of the other races, but for the most part they look good. The only changes I can recommend is to give moogles a 30 ft. base speed - they never seemed to let their size slow them down in the games, though if they have a naturally shorter number of movement squares in the tactics games you could go either way.

For the Viera I would give them -2 Strength, +2 Dex, and either +2 Wisdom or Charisma. Their classes seem to focus on ranged attacks or specialized hits with assassination techniques or magical skills mixed in to get a good hard hit in.

Just my two cents, I wish you luck and happiness with your conversions.

I would give Bangaa a +2 to str instead of con. Also, maybe incorporate their near-blindness?

I would change the -2 bonus on Viera to either Con or Str

Seeqs im confused about the most... I would change their stats to be either +4 con and -2 Int , which is kind of a weird set up OR change it to +2 con, +2 Cha -2 Int, I always thought they were kind of charming in the games. They just dont seem dextrous or particularly Strong to me.

I would try to nerf down the flying races as much as possible when it comes to innate flight, its a completely different game between FFtactics games and pathfinder when it comes to how flight works in combat. In tactics, its pretty useful, in Pathfinder, its holy crap amazing.

Your including the standard pathfinder human as well I assume? Sounds like a fun project though,I love Ivalice

the moogle thing is mostly drawn from experiences with crystal chronicles, where you need to slow down occasionally for mog to keep up, and the fact that moogles in FF12 (at least according to the wiki) largely can't fly. that, with their tiny little legs is what spurred the speed choice.

i'm not sure how to penalize their vision specifically (since they apparently have good hearing and smell), maybe light sensitivity?

actually the seeq stats were off for some reason, they were supposed to be +2 con/wis, -2 int (they're described as tough and crafty, but with crude speech and lower intelligence).

to both of you: on the viera cha penalty, it's mostly due to how closed-off they are from the other races (in FF12, even those who had left the woods to see the world were still a bit aloof and hard to gauge), which causes a good deal of disconnect in social situations. though this isnt present in the tactics games, so a con penalty mihgt make more sense--i'm hesitant to penalize strength though.

Light sensitivity but scent or darkvision maybe.

fair point. i traded out the survival boost for darkvision and light sensitivity (scent is really expensive, so i'm not sure how to grab it short of dropping their natural attacks)
