Raising a character that died from Con. damage?

Advice

I had a player die from losing too much Con from a poison effect, taking them down to -1, so they died. My question is exactly how to be able to have them raised, since the Con damage won't heal naturally while dead. Any advice would be appreciated. Level 6 character btw.

Note that Constitution damage is different to Constitution drain. I'm assuming your poison has dealt damage, since drain is much rarer.

Thus, the following line from the Raise Dead spell applies:

"A raised creature has a number of hit points equal to its current HD. Any ability scores damaged to 0 are raised to 1. Normal poison and normal disease are cured in the process of raising the subject, but magical diseases and curses are not undone."

So your character, if given a Raise Dead spell, would be alive and with sufficient Constitution damage to have a Constitution score of 1, in addition to any other effects that may be present.

as for con drain:

well it depends.
rise dead mention that level 1 creatures brought back to life loose con and if they have no more con they can't be brought back.

now here is a small tidbit about how in 3.5 dead creatures were considered objects but in pathfinder this has not been ruled ether way(yes or no). if a dead creature is still a creature (albeit not alive one), then it is still subject to some spells. restoration is one of them (target is creature. and unlike some other spells this is not said to be only 'live' creature. just creature.)
so if the gm rule that dead creatures are still in effect creatures then you can still use restoration on them to restore their con back to above 0 and then rise them from the dead.

PS: Make sure the poison is no longer in effect either. Or they are likely to go right back to being dead from the Con damage/drain of the poison.

That shouldn't be hard... "Normal poison and normal disease are cured in the process of raising the subject"

Dying from Con Drain however you may need True Resurrection, since regular Resurrection says "the creature is immediately restored to full hit points, vigor, and health" but that arguably doesn't include Con drain.

Though it isn't spelled out, I would expect the same method used to raise characters with too many permanent negative levels to also work on characters with too much Constitution drain.

Edit: For that matter, what prevents one from casting restoration on the creature while it was still dead? It's still a creature with a Constitution score and a hit point total, and restoration specifies "creature touched", not "living creature touched".

I just brought up the drain issue because of a higher level(14-15) PFS character I had died of Con Drain... (took like 20-25 con drain over 2-3 rounds in the middle of combat) and for a time I thought the character was perma-dead because I wasn't of a level appropriate to purchase a 9th level spell, True Resurrection. Not sure if it was strictly legal, but the GM allowed the purchase of True Res via gold since it was on the list of spells that were 'always available' for purchase (on the prestige chart).

Module Spoilers:
Nemhain, rolling well on the d6 drain using Flyby into the floor and its swift action attack with its touch attack for 2d6 Con drain/round.
