Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I found a post here that this whole group of people were wanting to explore the path known as the wrath of the righteous. Even after the first DM took his batch of players there were 16 left when he made the plea for assistance from other DM's to help out these poor souls that want and desire nothing but to start the 5th crusade and cleanse the worldwound.

I took seven of the Heroes but cant take any more. as this makes three wrath tables I am running right now.

I call upon all you DM's and GM's that are looking at running this path to choose from this players or give them a chance first.. as they have been passed over twice now and really need a DM that will love them and cherish them.. and bring the wrath of the abyss to bear against them.
Here is the thread I found. I started a new one because it got cluttered up with info that only pertains to my house rules so starting this thread here but this is the one.

These 9 Players need a home still:

Mori Fallenoak
Kevril Silverkin
Dal Selpher
Cyrus9553
Krisam
Nathan Hartshorn
Ramiel Torv
Caelus Oklir
E-terah earthenchild

Thank you for you time.. please assist these folks if at all possible.

Sovereign Court

Let me consider. I can run 2 more tables and take all of them..

YAY!!

Sovereign Court

I'll be taking these players in knowing how it feels like to be left in the cold. Happily I'm in 2 games now.

The Crunch
1. 20 point buy
2. 2 traits - One must be from WoTR Guidebook
3. Hit points Max at first level.
Subsequent levels 1/2+1 hitpoint per level.
4. 300gp starting Gold.
5. No Evil Alignments (lol trust me....)
6. No ability score below 8 after racial adjustments. (Please)
7. All Core Races. Non Core Races, please run it through me.
8. Assimars, Tieflings, Tengus are Core to me.
9. All Core Classes (Archetypes) and Advanced Class Play test classes allowed.
10. Limited access to guns. (They're rare).

The GM
Have ran several games over the years... say 8 years. Just not PbF. (This would be my 8th and 9th PbF game I'm gming)
I like concepts and chracters who are able to find new uses of their skills. I'm not so fixed on Fixed Bonuses and will give 'GM' Bonuses as needed. I know sometimes the dice rollers hates us all but I'm willing to give a little leeway in this.

The rules lol
1. Daily posting please. I'm able to check multiple times per day.
I'll skip your turn if I have too in order to move the game along.
2. Let's keep it nice. We can always discuss things.
3. You are responsible for your character. (lol)
4. Yeah that's it for rules.

Requirements
Please post your introductions.
I don't choose the party. You do. Details will be up later on that.
All 9 heroes will be spilit into 2 parties.

And let the invitations be sent to the 9 heroes listed.
1 more space will be opened as Wild card.

I'd be interested in playing. As the last player to board the bus (if accepted of course) what character class would you recommend to fill out the roster? The roleplaying matters more to me than which class I play so whatever's needed.

Sovereign Court

Speaker, thank you for your interest.

However I don't call the shots. The above players will.

Works for me. What do you 'above players' need? :-)

*edit* I'll check back in the morning.

Thanks for picking this up, Night.

Sovereign Court

hmm only Caelus and Earthchild has posted. Haven't seen the others.
oh right..thanksgiving.

Silver Crusade

That's great nightdeath.

I am glad that you could help them all out.

I am in two wrath games and seems both are also in need of a GM.

seems that AP consumes DM's alot.

Good to know that. I wonder where the rest are though.

Wow! I just stumbled onto this thread late this morning. That's really cool of you to offer so many slots to passed over players, nightdeath.

As for my slot, I've already adjusted my previous submission for another AP, but seeing as you're accepting ACG playtest classes, I worked Naravash Avernus up for consideration. I'm interested to see if the Slayer class can produce a ranged-focused character on par with a fighter or ranger, so I'm steering him in that vein.

I also went with the Stolen Fury campaign trait. And thanks again for offering to run a pair of games!

EDIT: I've sent PMs to Mori Fallenoak, Kevril Silverkin, Cyrus9553, Krisam, Nathan Hartshorn, and Ramiel Torv letting them know about this thread.

If you don't mind me asking, if there are others who don't show up to their reserved slots would you start taking other players instead? Because I've been looking for a game but have yet to find one where there wasn't 30-40 other players signed up.

Fixed up Morgrym. Just letting you know this'll be my first foray into PbP. And thank you nightdeath.

Le Dot

This is definitely the most inviting and heart warming thread!

I will have to bow out however as I am getting situated in a couple of new games.

Thanks, all.

Special thanks to Dal Selpher for the PM.

Sincerely,
Ramiel Torv

Cyrus9553 just PM'd me to let me know he's in another game as well.

I was in a group of five that started a [url=http://paizo.com/campaigns/DMAchaksWrathOfTheRighteous]Wrath game[/irl] less than a week ago.
But 2 days after the game started, before even the first encounter or knowing what the heck is going on, the GM went up in smoke.

If anyone'll take pity on me and/or any of the other characters, you have my gratitude.

I think I'll bow out of the running for this one, good gaming to those of you who do get in instead! And thank you to nightdeath for the opportunity!

And yes, special thanks to Dal Selpher for the PM, without which I may not have realized there was a spot available for me.

Caelus, revised... (See profile for details).

The Spiel

For several weeks, excitement has been building in Kenabres—Armasse is coming!

Traditionally an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history from wars past, since Aroden’s death, this holy day has become more about training commoners in weaponry, choosing squires, and ordaining new priests.

Over time, Armasse has grown to encompass jousting competitions, mock duels, battle reenactments, and other festival events. In Kenabres, the festival (which takes place on 16 Arodus) is eagerly anticipated, for it provides distractions from the horrors of being on the front line of the war. Smiles on faces normally marred by downcast eyes and furrowed brows do wonders for city morale in the weeks leading up to the event.

Armasse is a citywide celebration, but the majority of the event, including its jousting matches and other entertainments, takes place at Clydwell Plaza, just west of the cathedral.

Little do anyone else knows on this day, everything they knew will change.

For here it all begins.

Character Intro here in this city begins!! Do post up your character intros. PMs have being sent to all posted interested parties including the reserved slots.

Here is Garrett Carr, an Aasimar Paladin (Divine Hunter)

(an alias of Speaker for the Dead) Let me know if you see any problems!

Have fun, everyone who got in!

Should a slot open up, don't hesitate to PM me!

A tall Aasimar pauses at the edge of the plaza and takes a moment to beat some of the road dust off his clothes. Looking at the crowd of revelers he shakes his head bemused, "Sarkoris suffers under the lash of demons and these folks decide it's a good time for a party. I don't know if I should weep at their callousness or admire their resilience"

He's 6'4", 180 lbs, black hair and eyes armed with greatsword and bow and wearing steel Lamellar armor. Ignoring the odd looks people are giving him he pulls a tabard from his pack and puts it on over his travel stained clothes. His gear is well maintained but dusty and worn. The tabard is clean and looks brand new. There are taller men in the crowed and armed and armored men certainly aren't an unusual sight in Kenabres but people are still edging away from him. It's nothing he isn't used to. Some Aasimar look almost human but Garrett's skin is the color of cold forged iron and set him apart from the crowd.

"I wonder where the chapter house is?" Spying the temple he starts towards it, "As good a direction as any. Even if it's not the right place they should be able to provide directions."

At the western edge of the Plaza, a young Kellid peels away from the slow flow of the crowds, finding a spot to stand and observe. Caelus is a shade less than six feet tall, rangy, with shoulder-length black hair held back by a simple leather band, bronze skin, and dark eeys under a jutting brow. He is clean shaven, wearing a long, dark grey riding coat and worn boots. A heavy, well-stuffed pack in on his back, and he is using a nine-foot spear as a walking staff.

He scans the square, a faint smile of anticipation occasionally appearing on his face. At last. Time for me to begin the Work. Molkar told me many times that Armasse is an auspicous time for one to take up the Crusade....

His foster parents had given him a few names to look up after the festivities - crusaders that could help him find a place where his talents could help. Until then, look out on the crowds, and enjoy Armasse.

Most part ways at the sight of you. All baring one spry old woman who looks you up and down before smiling and approaching you. Her gait is smooth yet her movements do not match her age.

She smiles and asks:

"New to Kenabres, I see. An unusual one yet I have to have seen. I'm Terendelev and I dare say welcome for Armasse. Would you be interested in jousting matches and other entertainments? I think you'll do well for archery. Make your way towards the inner of Clydwell Plaza, warrior. You'll might just find your path."

With a pat on your back, she disappears into the crowd heading towards what seems to be a kellid.

A dwarf, more than 4 feet in height, though with more than enough girth to be called stocky wanders throughout the crowd. He turns and says a few blessings of Torag over the smiling faces of the people looking for a good Armasse day

Ah, its good to see people a bit more light-hearted. Torag knows they need this day to keep the spirit alive. I wonder if anyone needs something forged for today?

Morgrym shakes his head and pats his extremely bushy and much singed beard.

Bah, shouldn't be thinkin' o' work now. Tis Armasse Day!

You cannot help but noticed what seems to be a warrior speaking with an old woman. Their conversation seems muted and ordinary but it draws your attention.

Suddenly she stands before you. She could give your tribesman lessons in moving through crowds. She grins.

"You have travelled far from the north. I hope the air is here is too your liking. I like the air here. Pity about the demons though. Find you a path towards inner Clydwell Plaza and you might just find yourself kindred. I am Terendelev, one who stayed long in this city and I bid you welcome."

She slides past you amongst the crowd as the people start moving causing you to lose sight of her but her voice somehow floats across the press of people.

"Your Oynar is a beautiful one ain't she."

A giggle catches your attention.

A small child of about 10 years holding on to a rag doll bear is staring at you in open mouthed wonder. She's accidently pushed to the ground by a porter carrying goods but is snatched up before hitting the ground rather adroitly by an old woman. She waves away the porter's apologies and gives the child sweet candy from her skirts before whispering something in the child's ears casuing her to giggle once again before turning and running off to the shrikes of other children playing.

"Smith of Torag, I'm Terendelev and I bid you welcome to this fair city. The sights I hope are impressive enough for one of your statue. That child I spoke too was curious about your beard and found it amusing, she hasn't seen much dwarves around. I do hope you forgive her and not take offense for the child knows not the significance of dwarves beard."

She gestures towards somewhere towards where the crowd seems to heading too.

"Make your way to the Inner of Clydwell Plaza. There I should say are bonds waiting to be forged and new friendships be crafted. Have a good Armasse."

With that Terendelev seems to blend in with the crowd and you lose sight of her quickly enough as teh crowd swallows her from your sight.

Terendelev, that name be soundin' familiar. What do I know of her?

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 Max 10

Best be doin' as she says if'n I want to enjoy this day to the fullest. Do hope I see that child again, give her something I'll cobble up

Using bits and pieces from his person as well as a couple of things purchased on the street for 3 silver Morgrym whistles a hymn to Torag while building a small toy as he walks.

Craft(toy): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Ye be lookin' for Nathan Hartshorn? Name sounds like it belongs to a different life o' mine...

Caelus cocks an eyebrow at the old woman's comments. ...and not only knows that I am bound to an Eidolon, but names her as well? Interesting.

That name...Terendelev...had he heard it before?

Gods, but I'm hungry. That's the best part about Armasse in Kenabres, this city knows how to make good food.

Naravash, a lithe tiefling of average and unassuming height, wends his way through the crowd, moving with deliberateness for Clydwell Plaza. His skin is mottled and grey and a series of horns arc back over his head, almost like a natural helmet. A heavy, grey cloak hangs comfortably from his shoulders though it is currently drawn, concealing whatever clothing and gear the tiefling might be wearing underneath. Embroidered on the back of the cloak so it rests between his shoulder blades is a simple, if large, representation of Iomedae's holy symbol.

You realises that Terendelev is the name of kenabres famous guardian. A silver dragon, she tends to walk around the populace. Any misusing her name tend to be dealt with harshly but those occasions are rare.

Should we move this to its own gameplay thread by now? Or is this still heading towards set up?

Huh, sorry didn't realize that there was another one of these going up. Info should be in my profile if people are still doing recruitment.

The only thing that is undecided is his archetypes but they don't affect me till a lot later so I'll discuss that if I get into a game.

Making her way into the city. a place she hasn't been to for as long as she can remember. she doubts anyone would recognize her nor her family name any more even if it was advertised.

Those days are long gone. this is a new life, a chance to start fresh, to put the horrors of my past behind me

Abigail a young girl blonde hair blue eyes. with the ever so faint yet present angelic aura about her. The touch of Sarenrae herself evident about her.

she carries a short spear but she has wrapped the tip in leather to prevent accidental injuries in the crowds. Abigail did not come here to fight these folks. she came to pick up where her father left off, and find the reason why her family was hunted all thise years ago.

Wandering among the street vendors and the performers she makes her way to the plaza where the aspiring warriors and crusaders flaunt thier stuff hoping to be squired by a crusader knight, of reputable mage to practice the arcane arts.

If you're not one of those on reserve list, You may not get into the game though recruitment is still up.

Most of the townsfolk give you wide berth with some giving unkind whispers. Being so near the worldwound would give them cause for distrust but even then the welcome would not have so welcoming as one would like.

An Old woman approaches you and the whispers cease. It seems she's well known amongst these townsfolk.

"Don't you mind these people. We can't help being born who we are but we can certainty make sure of who we are. Previous doesn't cut it but currently I see a fine boy. Make your way to the Inner of Clydwell Plaza. Maybe just maybe some will see beyond who you are but whe you truly are."

Still in recruitment mode. All in reserve list are guaranteed a spot unless you pull out.
