Subject says it all, wondering if signature deed can be taken multiple times. It doesn't say you can but also doesnt say you cant.

...Good question. I always presumed it could only be taken once but I am not sure now. Dotting

yeah, was looking at the swashbuckler class and it is strong for both points "unless it says you can take it multiple times you can not."
and the flipside being "If it doesn't say you cannot, then you can."

Feats that do not say that can be taken again cannot be taken again. Signature deed is a pretty powerful feat, but it does not have the 'take again' clause. While I have seen many feats that say they can be taken again (ie toughness), I have not seen a feat that says it cannot be taken again.

If it doesn't have "Special: you may take this feat more than once", or something to that effect, then you may only take it once.

I see people get this wrong with "Extra Channel" all the time in PFS.

(and I messed up once by taking Additional Traits twice on a character, too)

ok, then i believe a new labeling system should be in place, because I would much rather have it be assumed that, than only having "you cannot take this feat more than once." etc.

It is much easier to have the clause of using a feat multiple times, as most feats can only be taken once. If people assume feats can be taken multiple times, then overpowered things can happen; multiple improved initiatives, power attacks, weapon finesses, and spell perfections can get ridiculous quickly.

Weird. I wonder why Extra Channel is only allowed once while Extra Almost Everything Else can be taken multiple times.

Taking it more than once would be overpowered. Id have easily taken it 2 if not 3 times ifi had been allowed on my gunslinger.

Liberty's Edge

Actually, you can easily get the same feat twice. However, its benefits usually do not stack, per the line in the CRB : "If a character has the same feat more than once, its benefits do not stack unless indicated otherwise in the description."

In other words, you cannot get the benefits of Signature Deed a second time (even with a different deed) because it lacks that Special line allowing for its benefits to stack ;-)

I guess that Extra Channel's benefits also apply only once, even if you have several sources of Channel that could be affected (like being both an Oracle of Bones and a good Cleric).
