Actually - and I doubt that this was RAI, but does appear to be possible RAI - you could cast 5.Spell Synthesis says that you can cast two spells using one action.
It doesn't say standard, just action.
So since the feat is already granting an exception to the "two spells per round" rule, you could arguably cast two Quickened spells using one swift action, two spells using one standard action, and a fifth spell from Chronicler.
Yup, you're right. Sorry, I hadn't read the ability in awhile and forgot that limitation.

Not being that well versed in the rules.. can someone tell me please...
My Crypt thing has a 'Quickened Dimension door' spell like ability.
Can he use it in the middle of someone elses turn if he hasnt already had his turn? i.e. if the player fighting him has x2 attacks per round, can the crypt thing use the ability before the players second attack?
Cheers

Using a quickened spell or spell like ability is a swift action, swift actions can be done only during your turn, so no.
You need to do something that is a immediate action to be able to do it during some other creature turn.
(there are exceptions: attacks of opportunity, talking and some other activity, but those have specific rules that allow the exception)
