So I was going to do a video on this. But Fraps does not get along with Maptool so after some brief looking around I decided to stream it over Twitch.tv instead. This is both bad, because I can't edit things to make myself seem like some terrible tactical god (which I ain't). And good, because I can include any potential participation I get and maybe spread a bit more information than I would have otherwise.
I'll get on around 9pm EST. on Tuesday the 26th but begin an actual stream at around 9:30-45 probably going until about midnight.
So what will I be doing?
Well I'll be running an encounter designed for 7th level characters with 6th level versions of the 4th level characters I presented in the forge article. I have no other players so it'll mainly be a one man show to help depict and explain a lot of the concepts pulled in the past four Tactics 101 writeups. Chat participation is great here as they can point out things I miss. New players are encouraged to watch and ask questions.
For the record here are the sheets for the characters I'll be using.
The encounter will be a variant of the Gobbo/Orc fort described here. It will also be the last time I mention it ever as Ashiel has a big enough ego and my hand is sticky.
I may do a brief Q&A regarding tactics/strategy depending on how many show up. Ultimately I will save the video as a highlight and tos it in my profile for later viewing as well.
I'll bump this an hour or so before the stream officially begins to remind people.
Hope to see you there. :)

Again I apologize for my bad connection preventing this from being a group thing.
So I encourage people to watch the video (I'm uploading it to youtube now as I write this) and ask questions about it and what you saw).
After rereading featherfall I realized a mistake I made (objects have to already be falling). Still given the height involved it wouldn't be much damage in any case, and only the bard and cleric would have to worry about it.
To give a brief run down;
Goblins were all but wasted even their death cries didn't alert the orcs (stupid goblins and their screeching).
Owlbear failed a save against a create pit spell eliminating him before he could even be a factor.
One orc managed to reach close enough to threaten something with a melee weapon. He died in one shot from a tricked out buffed bard archer.
All other kills belong to grumpy who selected Goblins as a level 6 favored enemy and killed everything.
By the time the adept came out there was naught left of her crew but a goblin cutting his losses and hiding out in the owlbear pen until this blows over. The imp, invisible when he popped out, flew off.
The pit trap did become a factor as Tusky walked over it to cover her allies in melee to get dumped by a waiting hobgoblin. She climbed out the round after with some damage and some stink.
Alchemist's fires were a non-factor as those who had them never got close enough to use them.
Overall a grand showing of action advantage for those interested. Rapid shot and haste gave three attacks to two people making them 6 attacks to the hobgoblins 4. The wizard eliminated one dangerous opponent and increased the advantage of the archers with haste. Ironically in an attempt to show others how tanking is done the cleric proved ineffective falling into a trap and forcing the group to lose some controlled territory.

Just wanted to point out you missed another advantage of the Create Pit - "In addition, the edges of the pit are sloped, and any creature ending its turn on a square adjacent to the pit must make a Reflex saving throw with a +2 bonus to avoid falling into it."
A small thing, but would have been in favour of the party and could have delayed both enlarged orcs even more.
Nicely done overall though. Was very interesting to watch ;)

Glad someoen found it interesting. Frankly an hour and a half of watching one guy run a combat would bore me to tears.
Since I know I can't stream over my connection I think I'll instead work on getting a group together of newish players and work with them to build a balanced group and then run a combat whilst explaining tactics and discussing what and why decisions are made both in and out of character. That at least I hope proves more entertaining then what I was doing.
As for the pit thing, well, you saw how much difference that made to a pair of stupidly buffed archers. :)
