It's almost NaNoWriMo time again, and I'm so excited I can't choose what to write! :-)

I've narrowed my scope down to a Young Adult contemporary thriller/horror and that's as far as I've got. In my dreams it's a Charles Stross/ Cory Doctorow/ Neal Stephenson crossover. In reality it'll end up like Stephen King meets Dr. Seuss but anyway :-)

Can the Paizo overbrain churn out some ideas for me to riff off?

Oh - and don't forget to sign up for NaNoWriMo yourselves :-D

I'm still batting around whether or not I'll have time to participate this year. If I do, I have story ideas leaking out of my ears, it's just deciding which one to work on and making myself work on it. Last time I did NaNo I

a.) did not have a job, and
b.) was not GMing two campaigns

;)

Start from the other direction.

  • Who is your antagonist?
  • What does he/she/they want?

Then once you know that ...

  • What is their plan?

Thanks Lord Fyre, that's a good idea. I think half the problem is too many ideas and the other half is stupidly high standards. I don't want to end up with a collection of tvtropes either :-)

You've got my thinking narrowed down now - thank you! :-)

You are going to end up with tropes everywhere in it, and you know it. Embrace it instead. The tropes are way too all-encompassing to escape without making it incomprehensible at this point.
