I've been reading through the Rise of the Runelords anniversary book in pace with my playthrough of the scenarios in the card game and it's really been adding a lot to the experience for me. Encountering a card like "Shopkeeper's Daughter" for example, is way more fun when you know the details. :)
I realize there's only so much room to print fluff text on a card, but perhaps for the next AP Paizo could include some more story beats or character details in the rulebook or even on a pamphlet or something that's in each adventure deck box.
I think that could add a lot of enjoyment for other players who aren't willing to go through the "work" of seeking out the rest of the game's story. Maybe some people are picking this game up and don't even know there's more to it than what's in the box. *gasp*
Just an idea!

I too crave more story, of course, I am also always "playing" my character and getting strange looks from my friends. =P I imagine it is a hard balance between too much and not enough story, but at a minimum it would be awesome to see a condensed list where people could learn more if they wanted to. If you denoted the story part clearly, then only those interested in the story would be likely to continue.
I haven't seen a list yet on an easy overview of Varisia. I don't want to buy oodles of books but I will look at that anniversary one, thanks for the starting point! I will quit being so lazy and find exactly what I am looking for when I am no longer working 80 hours a week. (hopefully soon!)
Either way, I am already hooked as are my friends and we play every chance we get. "Yeah, I have to be at work in 6 hours and I haven't slept for 2 days but I think we could get a few scenarios in..."

The only issue with more fluff is you start to have people complain that you are spoiling the actual Adventure Path the game is based on.
That's like saying the movie will spoil what's in the book it was based on.
Not being snarky, but the Card Game is an independent product (with a notable dollar investment to buy): whatever limitations might be put upon the game, not giving away info on a separate product (especially one that has been out for years) shouldn't be one of them.

There are two free Player's Guide pdfs available on this website for the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, which give a nice intro to Sandpoint and Varisia. If you haven't seen them yet, they are definitely worth checking out. Link

@HolmesandWatson, Yeah I agree. Spoilers shouldn't be a consideration here. I can only speak for myself, but the odds of me being able to get into an organized full-on Pathfinder RPG are slim to none. That's partly why the card game works so well for me. :)
+1
I also have very little chance to actually play the RPG. But, the ACG is working well to occasionally fill the need.
But, I really like the idea of more story available. If spoilers are a worry. Maybe this could be a free PDF download with the next adventure path. That way, it's really easy for people to avoid but also really easy to get for those of us who want more.

If they don't want to spoil it, then they can just not read it. Why punish those who cant play the RPG just b/c the ones who can will get things spoiled for them?

Where in that statement am I saying that I am complaining about spoiling the actual Adventure Path? I made the statement because I have already seen people complaining that the card game might give away too much information as later sets come out. I was just stating what I have already seen on these boards.

I agree. One thing I think would be awesome, would be if someone who is familiar with the adventure in the RPG, make more story to fill in some of the gaps that the card game fails to note. You don't need an over abundance of information just enough to give more flavor.
For example more information on the Villains and their henchmen. More detail as to why the locations are there. The story that bridges the gap between adventure scenarios. How did the characters reach this area from where they were and why are they here.

I also hope that we have more story with the PACG guild scenarios!
