What does Paizo expect from licensed products

Licensed Products General Discussion

What does Paizo expect from companies that license the Pathfinder brand? Are there certain standards that Paizo expects?

President, Jon Brazer Enterprises

Are we talking about like WizKids that makes official Pathfinder branded minis? Or ate we talking an RPG company making pathfinder compatible products with the pathfinder compatible logo on it?

Third-party Pathfinder Roleplaying Game publishers are expected to adhere up the terms of the Pathfinder Compatibility License (and by extension, the Open Game License).

Assuming you mean something more than just the PF Compatibility License, I think they evaluate each opportunity on its own merits.

From what I've seen in discussions (both for things like the minis, the comics, munchkin, the PACG collaboration, etcetera - as well as discussions around hypothetical computer games, movies and so on) one prerequisite would be a proven track record of high quality, professional product of a similar type.

Here's a panel recorded at Gencon on the subject of licensed Pathfinder products which might touch on the issue.
