Failing to close a Location

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Grand Lodge

Hi.
I just run into my first problem during play.
I am not sure if there is something in the rules that I did miss.:(
After defeating the Bandits I tried to close the Farmhouse.
To do this I had to summon a monster from the box.
I am always pretty unlucky so I got one that I couldn't beat.
How is this handled?
I get that the location is unlosed, the bandits are dead.

Do I shuffle them again into the location deck?
Do I (also) shuffle the random summonded card into the location deck?
Do I banish the random summoned card back into the box, discard the Bandits and hope that I find another way to close the location?

Please help me.

The location is open. The bandit henchman, since defeated, are banished. The summoned monster goes back to the box.

In order to attempt to close the location again, you have to explore and resolve all the encounters, then attempt the close.

Banish the summoned monster and banish the defeated henchman. Location stays open. You can only close it if runs out of cards (you still need to fulfill the when closing requirements) or if you defeat the villain there (automatic)

Thank you both for your answers.

That will be a tough location. ^^

Just to be sure I got it right.
In the multiplayer game, there would be a third way.
If another character fights the villain at a different location, and I am still at the location I can try to temporary close it by summuning another monster, right?

Correct.

Right, and the monster is still banished when temporarily closing the location. Only if the scenario keeps going after that, you may need to close the location again (and fight yet another bandit) sine it's only temporarily closed.
