Please release (at least) the first 2 promos on the BGG Marketplace!

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Like many I purchased my game from another source (I got mine from my FLGS). This was well before I was aware that there were going to be promo cards.

Now I already have the base set as well as the character add on set and really don't want to spend an additional $60 for the two promos. I would be happy to subscribe to the game to get the rest of the cards but without the first two it isn't as appealing of a prospect to me.

Please consider releasing them into the GBB Market place!

The Poog of Zarongel promo card was released to FLGSs. If the store where you bought your game from didn't get any, tell them to ask their distributor—and let them know there will be a new one coming every two months, along with each new Adventure Deck.

As for Fire Sneeze, in addition to sending that to subscribers who started with the August shipment, we'll have it at conventions and major Pathfinder Society events throughout the coming year. (Other than Gen Con, we haven't said which ones yet, but there will be several opportunities.)

Well truth be told if I can obtain the two cards I would actually prefer to just subscribe to save myself the headache.

I will definitely ask the FLGS about Poog, but unfortunately I don't live anywhere near where conventions or major Pathfinder Society events take place. Unless there is some in Montana I don't know about, thus making it very unlikely I will be able to get Fire Sneeze. At any rate thanks for the info! I surely appreciate it!

Well, I talked to the guy at the FLGS and he said they never got any promos. He contacted his vendor and the vendor didn't have any. So either they actually never got any or one of them is lying and decided to keep the promos for themselves (after looking at the secondary market for these) I can imagine it was an easy decision.

So I guess I'm back to begging for these to be put on the BGG Marketplace because I don't want to purchase a second base set + character add on and I sure am not paying the inflated secondary market prices

The citizens of Godless United Communist Republics of Europe second the desire to see PACG promos on BGG Store.

*If* we were going to sell them, we'd just sell them here. We do have a fully functional web store, after all...

But we don't have plans to sell them.

Well honestly when I think promos for sale I automatically think BGG marketplace but that is pretty irrelevant at this point since my FLGS is anything but and I have no other way to get the first two promos except to shell out another $60

So subscriptions since the August shipment won't include fire sneeze?

The selection of promo cards we send is tied to the subscription product that's being sent.

With our subscriptions, during checkout, you will choose to start your sub with either the current subscriber release or with the next subscriber release.

Right now, the current release is the Base Set plus the Character Add-On Deck, with the promo cards Fire Sneeze and Poog of Zarongel. (If you want to subscribe but you already have the Base Set, you can contact customer service and they can adjust this starting option so that it contains only the Add-On Deck and the two promo cards.)

The next release (in October) is Adventure Deck 2 along with the promo card Blessing of Zarongel.

Once Adventure Deck 2 ships, you will no longer be able to begin your sub with the Base Set or Add-On; at that time, you'll be able to choose to start your sub with either Adventure Deck 2 (and Blessing of Zarongel) or Adventure Deck 3 (along with the promo cards Birdcruncher Crown and Dance with Squealy Nord).

Good evening Vic,

I am an initial subscriber, and I don't remember seeing those two promo cards in the box set, are they coming in a later shipment? How were they packaged? I assume as a promo they were packaged separately, but we all know what happens when we assume.. :)

You guys are doing a great job, thanks for all the great products.

The promo cards are shipped separately in the same parcel. If you didn't get them in your sub shipment, please drop a note to customer.service@paizo.com.

Liberty's Edge

They were in a plastic enveloppe that was white on one side and transparent on the other, and slightly smaller that a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.

My Base set and character add on arrived yesterday. From an online UK retailer, I have no local FLGS. The cost to ship the base game from the the US is prohibitive. However I have subscribed from adventure pack 2. I received Poog in the add on, but not Fire Sneeze. I would have subscribed to the character add on if it had been mentioned earlier that you didn't need to buy the base game. I will just have to fight my gamers OCD on this.

It is a real shame , I doubt if anyone on here will be surprised that missing a card causes such a weird sense of incompleteness or broken game. I even know perfectly functional humans that wont buy a game if they cant buy every component (at a reasonable cost). I think the whole trading/collectible card/expansion game industry has programmed customers from an early age and now promos we can't even obtain even if we are loyal customers.

I realise that I have no reasonable way of obtaining Fire Sneeze so I will try and put the feeling of disappointment aside. It has cast a shadow for now, so I can understand why others are pushing. Publishers must realise the impact, as that is why they use them to entice customers but it is a double edge sword they wield, when it is so difficult to obtain them. As a co-op game its not a real issue. To be honest I would much rather settle for updated cards or at last digital versions of the text areas to print and place over the original.

Yup. I bought the base game in the UK and have subscribed direct from the USA from set 2, but I will miss the promo cards as I didn't want to buy the base game again. I couldn't order just the character add on pack and an ongoing subscription. Pretty crazy parcelling of options there.

I really hope you don't do anything through BGG. They do not allow everyone to sign up for an account or to purchase items. they have no customer support to fix the problems that will not allow people to join or log into for a purchase.

That may be true, but I found the Pazio web store to be terrible. Every time I tried to start a subscription , it showed me having the base game in my cart. Only once I tried to actually PAY did it disappear. I persevered because this glitch had been mentioned on BGG.

some strange options going on with Paizo purchasing schemes. Perhaps they have been infiltrated by goblins?

I understand your post completely. Just the other day I was evaluating the "Boss Monster" card game. When I realized that there were rare, exclusive promo cards for Kickstarter fans that had donated multiple hundreds of dollars, I knew that game wasn't for me. I feel fortunate to have discovered this game early enough to put in a subscription for the base game. It wouldn't have ruined the entire game for me, but it would have been one of those things I'd have tried to track down sooner or later, and I would have regretted not subscribing from the get-go.

The international shipping thing, however, is totally out of Paizo's hands. The best they could probably do is to ensure that overseas retailers receive the promo cards, but that also may be out of their hands, as a U.S. manufacturer's hands are pretty much tied once they sell a product to a distributor for resale - they can't dictate the terms under which the product is sold.

The eBay price of the promo cards does seem to be dropping a little bit, though, so there is some hope that you'll be able to obtain them sooner or later at a fairly reasonable cost. The people I have a hard time really feeling badly for are those people who knew about the promos, decided they were going to get it on Amazon to save $5-10 (perhaps because they were unsure about the game's quality sight-unseen), found out they loved the game once they got it, and then loudly lament that they can't get the promos later. These guys should probably realize that they gambled and lost, and move on.

I love the game and have no issue subbing to get the releases but earlier I was told back then on here I couldn't start with the Addon deck, so I ended up picking both up at my FLGS to save on shipping since the main game wouldnt have made it right outside of my budget. Since then the policy has changed as per Vic.

Now I'm lucky that a friend was able to snag a Fire Sneeze for me at Gencon, but after calling my local store they never got any Poogs nor do their distributer have any to send.

Part of my enjoyment of this and any other card game is the promos, and the Poog card is proving hard to impossible. I'm happy to sub to ensure the rest, but only if I can somehow get the Poog card through normal channels (Paizo/FLGS). If not I'll just buy everything local and save money and forget the whole promo/subscription idea.

It's just that frustrating for me.

Fentum, I had a really hard time to figure out how to get the subscription to work here. I also had many times it would put the core game in the list. I tried different things then about the 5th time, it came up correctly. I would love to purchase from my FLGS to keep them in business but if I can't get the promo cards from them...

Sadly if my FLGS goes under, so will all future purchases.

Edit, spelling correction.
