Hey there. I'm looking for some advice.
I'm helping to organize a couple of weekly game days. There are some conventions coming up in the next month or three around the area, and I'm hoping that the weekly players go out and attend a convention or two and connect to the larger PFS community.
I'm worried, though. There's some ways that people get sloppy and informal when they play with the same small cadre of friends week in and week out.
I'm planning to have a "get your stuff in order" session before the local convention. What advice doyou have, for things that I should have them check, double-check, prep, etc. to make sure they have a good conention experience?

Some things that should be obvious, but often aren't:
1 - Have all their chronicle sheets up-to-date and filled out in ink.
2 - Have their ITS filled out (if need be)
3 - Have their character sheet up-to-date (and if using Hero Lab, a physical copy in case of battery problem)
4 - Have all of their resources ready (or if need be, purchase them).
My preference is to have a small duo-tang for each character, so that they are easy to find and all of the information is in one place (I have printed the watermarked PDF pages). A larger binder to hold off the characters also works, but I find it takes up too much room on the table.
If they will be leveling at the Con, have a new character sheet ready to go for the new level - ITS will cover expenses. This will save time and be much easier than trying to do it at the con, or worse, at the table as the next game is starting.

I'd recommend soft character audits. Check character sheets to see if there is anything glaringly suspicious (heavy fighter with +20 acrobatics at level 3, 29 AC at level 2 for a spellcaster, big value items on low level characters, etc.) and maybe a quick accounting check. Do this for one character per player per game day and that should sort some things out. As for the tactics they may use... That I don't know.
